Our Utilities/ Energy client is looking for Human Resources Administrator in Calipatria, CA Description: Performs administrative activities in support of Human Resources Department goals and objectives. Establishes and maintains employee records, administers benefit claims and communicates the benefits and processes to employees. Assists in the non-exempt employment process for Imperial Valley operations. Assists in administration of employee relations program support activities. Directs time entry activities for Geothermal and Solar payroll activities. All duties are performed in accordance with approved procedures, guidelines, and operating directives in effect. This position requires the ability to conduct business with an extremely high degree of confidentiality. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions): Adhere to, and support all safety and environmental rules, policies, rules, and procedures. Assists in the IV employment process. Participates on selection committees, contacts candidates and arranges for drug screen and physical examinations. Coordinates start date with Safety department orientation schedule. (15%) Enrolls and conducts orientation process for new hires. (25%) Produce written correspondence and reports using word processing and spread sheet computer based applications. Prepare and process departmental time sheets. (15%) Conduct the administrative process involving all employee benefit programs. Respond to employee inquiries on eligibility for employee benefits, amounts of coverage and claims procedures. (25%) Coordinate with the Des Moines office the establishment and maintenance of employee records. Maintain high degree of confidentiality regarding employee records, departmental memos and reports. Maintain benefit records and prepares documents necessary for implementing benefit coverage. Assist Human Resources customers with HR related issues and problem solving. (10%) Document and summarize in written form employee relations problems or issues. Perform special projects and other assignments/duties as directed. Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. Performance Expectations: Perform responsibilities as directed within determined time frames and with a high degree of accuracy. Demonstrate ability to recognize patterns in data, information or events and to draw logical conclusions and make recommendations for action. Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the department and the Company. Maintain a high level of professional competence, knowledge and skills necessary for the satisfactory completion of responsibilities; enhance job knowledge and abilities by taking personal responsibility for professional development and training. Maintain sensitive and confidential information regarding Company and employee information. Position Requirements: Four-year degree in human resources, business administration or related field or equivalent successful work experience is required. Must have a minimum of three years in a position requiring the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently and requiring the exercise of high levels of confidentiality. Demonstrated proficiency utilizing advanced computer-based programs including spreadsheet, word processing, and database. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Demonstrated knowledge of employee relations and human resources. Knowledge of applicable employment laws, regulations and requirements. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interface with all levels within the organization and in interacting with customers required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, maintain confidential information, comply with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines and other procedures required. Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
