How you will create an impact

The Technical Third-Party Oversight (TTPO) teams provide technical claims oversight and handling of losses adjudicated by a Third-Party Administrator. As the Head of Oversight Claims you will report directly to the Chief Claims Officer for North America and be responsible for overseeing the full portfolio of oversight claims as well as teams charged with review, triage and oversight of FNOL submissions for multiple LOBs and exposures. In this newly created role, you will be required to blend your deep technical expertise with an innovative mindset to identify and execute on continuous improvement opportunities as we modernize and transform the North American Claims Organization.

  • Manage, lead, and direct a team of Managers and Adjusters handling 3,000 (+) Complex Automobile, General Liability, Workers Compensation, Financial Lines and Property Claims in the TTPO groups.

  • Provide critical oversight to control indemnity, expense, and litigation costs through timely and appropriate reserving, trial preparation and ultimate resolution.

  • Collaborate with insureds, third-party administrator adjusters, underwriters, and brokers to ensure all stakeholders are aligned with the litigation strategy.

  • Provide ongoing training and coaching/counseling to managers and adjusters to achieve technical excellence.

  • Conduct periodic claim file audits of field claims practices and monitor results to help drive behavioral changes where appropriate.

  • Monitor claims dashboards to help drive best claims practices to secure that the team is meeting company goals.

  • Communicate with all internal business partners including underwriters to make sure underwriting is aware of large losses and industry trends.

  • Partner with TPA Governance and Relationship Management to help TPA’s and Insureds comply with claims handling and reporting guidelines.

  • Work with TPA Claims Financial to check the accuracy of TPA financials ensuring alignment with TTPO financials.

  • Develop tools and strategies, in collaboration with HR, to attract and retain top industry talent and develop high performing teams. Driving a culture that promotes collaboration, diversity, and inclusion.

  • Ensure a reputation of Claims excellence in the marketplace.

    What you’ll need to succeed

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required. Multi-state adjuster licenses and/or JD highly preferred.

  • Significant claims management in multi-line exposure experience desired.

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize projects while managing competing priorities.

  • Must be willing to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to form and cultivate relationships with our Third-Party administrator partners, ensuring a collaborative and cohesive experience for our customers.

  • Effective decision-making skills including the ability to recognize, analyze, and improve claims performance against standards and goals.

  • Strong technical expertise interpreting insurance contracts.

  • In depth knowledge of claim handling procedures, claims performance strategies, and claim best practices.

  • Proven Strategic Leadership skills in developing vision and purpose, driving for results and leading effective teams in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Should also have a demonstrated ability to initiate and champion change initiatives that leverage technology and improve skills in benchmarking.

  • Creativity in resolving challenging business problems, as well as ability to achieve business goals and objectives is essential.
