Graduate Scholar, Medical Affairs

Your tasks and responsibilities

The position will allow someone who has completed advanced studies in a science or engineering field or a physician to work closely with the radiologists, engineers and physicists at Bayer and take on a project that supports the use of contrast enhanced imaging and associated informatics software. They will be able to understand what the scientists and physicians do in Radiology at Bayer through an in-depth project. A specific project that fits their background and training will be assigned. Projects typically involve the investigation of improvements to imaging in radiology. They involve programming, data analysis and innovative thinking. They may also help develop scientific materials for presentations and help answer scientific questions internally and externally with collaborators or customers.

The primary responsibilities of this role, Graduate Scholar Medical Affairs, are to:

  • They will be primarily responsible for a project in radiology and will have to present their results with oversight from the radiologists and physicists, engineers and statisticians involved in the project. They will be encouraged to present or publish their work if substantial;

  • Develop new and extend existing data research projects utilizing information from prior Bayer clinical trial datasets, platform solutions using databases, backend frameworks and frontend frameworks;

  • Aid in the development of scientific presentation material;

  • Work with universities, collaborators and research sites;

  • Coordinate and cooperate on research activities with peers, supervisors, and subordinates;

  • Communicate effectively by listening, documentation, and presentation.

Who you are

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

  • Candidate must have completed (within the last three years) a PhD or Master's Degree, medical degree or equivalent. Fields of expertise must be in computer science, computer engineering or similar field. Must also be relevant to research in Bayer Radiology and bioinformatics.;

  • Research experience in Bioinformatics;

  • Broad understanding of scientific principles;

  • Ability to conceptualize, design, and implement databases and data analysis pipelines and scripts to address research questions;

  • Knowledge of radiologic physics and imaging principles;

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills;

  • Computer skills in word processing and spread sheet programs;

  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary/multicultural research team.

  • Must be available for 12 months (1 year)

Preferrred Qualifications :

  • Coding experience

  • Experience using C++ and Python

  • Experience using Tensor Flow
