Global Lead Engineer (gn) Microsoft 365 & Security

team: Global Microsoft Team | perm/full time

location: Romania, Bulgaria or Hungary preferred / other Europe optional | working model: hybrid

The role

As SoftwareOne's Global Microsoft Center of Excellence, we identify new business opportunities and work closely with our strategic partner, Microsoft, to design innovative, efficient technology solutions. We stay ahead of technology trends, define best practices, and create architectures to accelerate solution delivery and provide faster time-to-value for our customers. Responsible for global delivery and (Pre-) sales, we define training and enablement requirements across 19 locations, impacting over a thousand employees. As a credible voice in the Microsoft space, we share our expertise at industry events and webinars.As Global Lead M365 and Security Engineer, you will be responsible for developing best practices and innovative approaches for solutions and services within the Microsoft CoE, reporting directly to our Microsoft CoE Leader.

Combining your strong expertise in Microsoft 365 and Security, you will work closely with the Global Product Manager, Service Design Lead, and Architect for M365 and Security. You will be accountable for building product features, ensuring product quality, and managing time to market. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Architect and Service Design Lead to define the work breakdown structure.

• Product Build & Innovation : Lead the engineering efforts of the creation of repeatable Secure Microsoft 365 solutions and accelerators, capitalizing on ongoing projects and partnership with Microsoft to package ground breaking offerings accelerating time-to-value for SoftwareOne customers.  

• Strategic Partnership : C ollaboration with Microsoft, including the realization of joint Security offerings, ensure our offerings are at the cutting edge of technology and market needs.  

• Product & Delivery : I mplement delivery and product strategies that align with our corporate goals, driving growth and thought leadership in the M365 and Security space.  

• Delivery Excellence : Elevate our delivery efforts by being a trusted advisor in the development of proposals, solution designs, and architectures, particularly for strategic customers and significant deals. Innovate in creating demos, POCs, and presales artifacts that underscore our value proposition.  

• Advanced Advisories : Contribute to our Microsoft Advisory services, employing our established methodology and delivery toolkit, while continuously refining our practices based on market trends and feedback.  

• SoftwareOne Microsoft Por t folio Development : Champion the development of our Swo Microsoft 365 and Security Portfolio development, setting global delivery and engineering standards and integrating repeatable components to stay ahead of technological advancements.  

What we need to see from you

• Long standing experience in building or delivering solutions based on Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Security as an engineer .

• Strong understanding and hands-on experience with cutting-edge and legacy Security technologies and methodologies such as Entra (and AAD), Defender, Sentinel, Intune, Purview, Copilot for Security, to name a few. 

• Core understanding of

• Entra ID Identity and Security (hybrid/cloud only). Ability to implement identity security measures

• Endpoint Manager - Device Management, Onboarding, Endpoint Security. Integration with Defender suite and reporting

• Microsoft Defender for 365 - Safe Links, Safe Attachments, Anti-Phishing etc

• Microsoft Defender for Endpoint - Integration with Endpoint Manager (MEM), threat and vulnerability management etc

• Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps - Conditional Access App Control, Session Policies, Cloud App Discovery

• Microsoft Defender for Identity – VPN log forwarding and honeytokens

• Microsoft Sentinel - configuring log sources. Creating workbooks. Creating Logic Apps for incident response. Analyzing incident data.

• Microsoft Defender for Cloud – Defender for Servers and SQL Servers, deployment methods and Azure ARC integration

• Microsoft Purview – Data Security, Data Security, Risk & Compliance, deployment, configuration, rollout plan

• Knowledge of Security concepts like Zero Trust, Threat Protection, Data Protection, SecOps and regulation like NIS2, DORA, CISA. 

• Experience in service delivery model design and execution 

• Familiarity with Atlassian ecosystem (Jira, Confluence) for documentation and product management 

• A track record of successful and failed projects, product and professional service offerings in the domain of Microsoft 365 and Micros o ft Security.

• Past, extensive, hands-on experience with multipe relevant technologies.

• Current hands-on experience with latest Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Security technologies.

• A strong public speaker, demonstrating a credible history of on-stage and (social) media presence.

• Microsoft Certifications proving the teorerical knowledge, preferable SC-100 and MS-102 or current equivalents.
