Xylem Engineering & Quality Assurance Manager in Colorado Springs, Colorado

The Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Manager is accountable to develop, implement, and manage the Quality Management System. This role is responsible to lead and develop the local Quality and Manufacturing personel through formal development plans and mentorship. This Manager will work directly with the site leadership team to develop annual strategic deployment plans and lead key business initiatives to improve our customer offerings. This role will also join a team of like individuals across various plants to gain enterprise perspective, share leading practices, and drive standardization.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Develop, deploy and own Quality Management System

  • Lead the Quality Control and Manufacturing Engineering team

  • Maintain ISO 9001 including internal and external audits

  • Provide input and feedback to the corporate Quality Management System

  • Actively participate in the plant Strategic Deployment process

  • Develop strategic plan for team to execute SMART objectives

  • Act as a change agent to implement key business initiatives

  • Communicate quality control information to all relevant organizational departments, outside vendors, or contractors

  • Assist in determining manufacturability / feasibility, and implementing quality checks and measures

  • Develop projects with operations personnel that reduce cost of quality and overall manufacturing costs

  • Track projects to completion and evaluating effectiveness of countermeasures.

  • Lead root cause analysis determination kaizen and drive the implementation of mistake proofing to eliminate and preventative actions

  • SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience with APQP procedures and ISO 9001 standards

  • Experience implementing lean framework and kaizen activity

  • Ability to affectively lead projects to completion with sustained results

  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints with GD&T and welding symbols

  • Quality inspection, auditing and testing experience

PREFERED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • BS Degree in Quality or Engineering preferred

  • 10+ years experience in Quality and/or Operations

  • Certifications an advantage including Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer, Quality Improvement Associate, Six Sigma Black Belt, SME Lean Bronze Practitioner

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.

  • Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.

  • Must be able to climb and descend stairs.

  • Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis.

  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.

  • May work indoors and outdoors as needed. Exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees.

  • May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required.

  • May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt.

  • Work surfaces may include concrete.

  • Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.

  • Some travel to other locations, meetings and/or seminars is required.

Salary range:

$91,500.00 - $164,500.00
