Director of Imaging Services – Chico Location: Chico, CA Duration: Fulltime Shift Information: Days, Full Time Description: The Director of Imaging Services reports directly to the Vice President of Patient Care Services and is responsible for the clinical and administrative management of Radiology Services in collaboration with the Medical Director. The Director has overall responsibility for the operational, quality, human resource, and financial management of Imaging Services to include the inpatient and outpatient departments. The Director coordinates the services through leadership and collaboration with colleagues throughout the Medical Center. The Director consistently demonstrates the core values of client Health and serves as a role model to other employees. The director: Participates in the development and management of department budgets and productivity targets. Is responsible for capital budgets and purchasing of new equipment. Manages human resources utilization, promotes employee satisfaction, supports staff development, and utilizes the progressive discipline process when appropriate. Leads employees, supports organizational goals and decisions, implements necessary changes, and participates in strategic planning for service needs and resource utilization. Develops the team and serves as a change agent as the team learns to support growth, new technology advancements and implementation. Maintains and promotes quality service and best practice. Participates in quality improvement processes and assures implementation of regulatory standards. Ensures service is provided considering the age-specific physiological, emotional, and cognitive needs of the patients served. Continually evaluates departmental function and the delivery of patient service. In conjunction with Director, translates knowledge of professional and regulatory standards to policies, practices, and procedures and maintains for current changes. Researches interdepartmental problems/issues and takes corrective action in timely manner and promotes respectful responsive communication between departments to promote patient centered care. Supervises staff in Radiology modalities. Guides staff in the adherence to applicable standards of care / practice and/or departmental / organizational expectations. Acts as a resource to other departments for education and information in area of expertise. Adept at fostering professional growth, teambuilding and effective working relationships. Ensures efficient patient flow through the Radiology departments. Makes significant impact on patient outcomes and department efficiency. Education / training / experience: Minimum: Ten years managerial experience in a leadership role (at least five of which are in healthcare) Master’s degree in radiology, business administration, health care administration, hospital administration or related field. Strong knowledge and experience relevant to Imaging Services. Desired: Five years managerial experience in a hospital setting Masters of Business Administration (MBA) Membership in a professional organization and attendance at conferences regarding management and supervision of employees. Experience in a complex medical center environment Licenses / certifications: Minimum: Current license issued by ARRT Skills / knowledge / abilities: Must demonstrate leadership ability. Must have knowledge of regulatory requirements to include JCAHO standards, Title 22 regulations, and Medicare Conditions of Participation. Must have knowledge of and a demonstrated ability in financial management and reporting, quality improvement processes, and human resource management. Must have the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Must have the ability to motivate, delegate, analyze information and problem solve. Must demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence and effectively use critical thinking to problem solve. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position. Patients served: This position is responsible for age-related physiological, emotional and cognitive needs of the following age groups of patients: Infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
