ICU - Critical Care Internship Program - October 2024

This exciting course is a combination of a web-based program with clinical application through workshops/ case studies and critical care clinical rotations. The course has been carefully designed by a team of critical care nurses to maximize critical care learning and apply didactic knowledge in a critical care clinical setting.

Critical Care Internship Program:

• Internship Begins October 15th, 2024(PLEASE NOTE: New grads (CNRs) will be required to attend clinical orientation two weeks prior to the start date listed. External experienced nurses will start one week prior to the start date listed.)

• Internship will be a minimum of 12 weeks in length. The first two weeks of didactic training you will be exempt from any overtime. It is recommended that Interns should not be taking any other programs or courses during the internship.

• Vacations / PTO's will not be approved during the first two weeks of orientation or the four weeks of didactic training.

• There is an hours-based commitment required for the internship program specifically to the unit of hire.

• Please note: Most positions managers are looking to fill will be for nights, with only select hospitals looking to fill day positions, if available.

• St. Joseph's Hospital (Tampa) -Night shift only

• St. Joseph's Hospital - South (Riverview) - Limited Day and Night Shift openings

• St. Anthony's Hospital (St Petersburg) - Night shift only

• South Florida Baptist Hospital (Plant City) - Night shift only

• Morton Plant Hospital (Clearwater) - Night shift only

• Mease Countryside Hospital (Countryside) - Night shift only

• BayCare Alliant (Dunedin) - Limited Day and Night shift openings

** All graduate nurses must be licensed by September 25th, 2024

Qualifications - EXTERNAL

What You Will Need:

• Current Florida RN license (may apply without license, but must have license prior to the start of the program)

• Current, active Basic Life Support Certification

• EKG competency is required before beginning the Internship. Taking an EKG class and passing the test is strongly encouraged. All interns will take an EKG competency test during the didactic portion of the program. All Interns will take ACLS during the Internship.
