Construction Coordinator

Location(s): Nevada

Various construction field offices in the client’s service territory for the duration of the project (est.0-6 years).

Job Description:

Works closely with the Construction Project Manager, Construction Manager, Monitor Manager, and other field services staff during the execution of a large electrical utility project in Nevada. Responsible supporting all construction administrative aspects of the project, including contract management, subcontractor compliance, scheduling, document management, project onboarding training, inventory management, project GPS tracking management. This individual must display a high degree of professionalism, organization and cooperation with customers and co-workers. This position is based in a field office and may require travel in the state of Nevada.

Required Education/Experience:

Included but not limited to;

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent industry-related experience) from an accredited university – engineering, engineering management, construction management, or project management disciplines

  • Three (3) + years of equivalent industry-related experience in engineering, construction, and/or electric power and communications industry

  • Experience in project scheduling, reporting and administration

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality and professionalism

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Knowledge and experience with project management processes and tools

  • General understanding of project lifecycles

  • Excellent computer skills

  • Familiarity with various scheduling techniques

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively with competing priorities and stressful situations

  • Strong desire to take on various tasks and learn throughout the project

  • Must have current and valid driver’s license.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supports the execution of POWER’s construction administration scope of work on the project.

  • Assist in the facilitation of the project team’s familiarity with and learning of contract terms to administrative and all other project staff, contractors, and all others representing the owner.

  • Collaborate with Construction Project Manager to prepare and submit budget estimates and progress of cost tracking reports.

  • Assist in Construction Project Manager to review and respond effectively to project critical issues.

  • Assists in effectively communicating the overall project status and maintains relationships with multiple stakeholders both internal and external to resolve coordination issues.

  • Participate in various daily, weekly, and monthly project meetings, as required.

  • Supports all administrative and coordination efforts as it related to POWER’s construction administration scope of work.

  • Organizes project meetings, agendas, completes meeting minutes, and tracks action items.

  • Supports the inventory tracking of POWER equipment and vehicles assigned to the project.

  • Assists during the onboarding of new project personnel.

  • Assists the Construction Project Manager in processing the following construction documents: pay estimates, invoices, requests for information, change requests, and notices.

  • Assists in preparation of construction status reports.

  • Supports document control efforts both internal as well as construction contractor deliverables.

  • Supports and eventually leads the implementation and maintenance of GPS tracking management on the project.

POWER is a fun engineering firm. That might seem contradictory to some, but it works for us!

Base Salary Range: $65,000.00 - $79,040.00 per year

The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.
