As Hagerty grows, we continue to look for talented professionals from a variety of backgrounds to provide holistic solutions to our clients. We are currently seeking a Compliance Specialist. This is a full-time position that will be primarily remotely based with travel required to client sites as needed.

The responsibilities of a Compliance Specialist include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct monitoring and desk reviews of client and sub-recipients activities to evaluate program effectiveness and efficiency and for compliance with program requirements and federal regulations.

  • Develop monitoring reports based on desk reviews to evaluate program and financial documentation and transactions.

  • Create templates, forms, tools, and other resources to support client-s and sub recipients adherence to program requirements and federal regulations in the form of technical assistance.

  • Develop and lead training and presentations for internal and external audiences.

  • Research and analyze program requirements and policies and federal regulations, laws, and guidance.

  • Conduct research and analysis to respond to clients and sub recipients inquires and provide other technical assistance

  • Draft management- and client-level reports, memorandums, letters, and documents to maintain informed stakeholders and provide recommendations on best practices.

Candidates for Compliance Specialist must possess the following qualifications:

  • At least three (3) years of work experience working on federal grant programs, such as Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grants, United States (US) Treasury Grants, or US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grants, or other federal grant award programs.

  • Substantial familiarity with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) and knowledge of federal grant award regulations and laws.

  • Strong ability to analyze and interpret program requirements and federal regulations.

  • Ability to develop compliance and technical assistance content including presentations, webinars, FAQ documents, or personalized training programs, based on program requirements and Federal regulations.

  • Program monitoring knowledge and experience including the ability to review and analyze program documents to determine compliance adherence and develop corrective action recommendations.

  • Experience with internal training and mentoring staff around compliance and audit preparation in a collaborative environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience in conducting training in a virtual environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Adobe.

  • A bachelor-s degree from an accredited university or college in public administration, policy, political science, or a related field of study.
