You will be responsible for Aggreko Energy Services (AES) key relationships with customers and off takers, as well lead on the structuring of Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) / Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (CPPA).

As the ‘go-to’ person in the team for all things PPAs related this role is pivotal to AES’ success. You’ll be at the heart of early discussions for new developments, structuring Heads of Terms (‘HoTs’) and ultimately PPAs and Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (‘CPPAs’) for both grid-facing and behind-the-meter assets. The Commercial Manager will foster strong relationships with customers, partners and consultants to ensure AES deliver an exceptional product.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on structuring all PPAs to ensure risks are allocated in line with AES business model, starting initially with leading on structuring HoTs that support the origination function on providing solutions that best meet customers’ needs

  • Manage analysts to ensure high quality provision of analytical support is provided across the business unit

  • Support project financing workstreams by working with external consultants and lawyers to ensure terms entered into are financeable

  • Be responsible for pricing assumptions used in all modelling (forecasts, budgets, M&A, development models)

  • Own the AES relationships with all key partners (consultants, offtakers, customers) and leverage these relationship to develop innovative solutions as and when they are required to deliver AES business model

  • Inform and support strategy as AES grows into new technologies and jurisdictions

Key performance indicators

  • Develop team to ensure AES’ objectives are met

  • Ensure all HoTs and subsequent agreements appropriately allocate the inherent risks

  • Nurture external relationships with consultants and offtakers such that Aggreko receives best possible service

  • Produce high quality quarterly updates on price assumptions/forecasts feeding into M&A, investments decisions and budgeting

  • Work seamlessly with origination and development function to ensure smooth delivery of projects

Location: Remote based, must be willing to travel in UK (notably London) and European trips as required

What we’re looking for

  • Demonstrated experience of UK renewable energy market experience

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of structuring and originating new offtake agreements

  • Familiarity in the day-to-day management of PPAs/CPPAs, including hedging and risk management

  • A strong communicator capable of expressing views both internally and externally, including challenging others where necessary

  • Extensive network in the UK energy sector
