Description of Clinical and Sport Psychology Services

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Director of Clinical and Sport Psychology Services, the Sport Psychology Clinical Program & Case Manager will:

• Provide wrap-aroundCase Managementsupport to student athletes and related coordination of care services for the Clinical Sport Psychology team. Case Management

• Coordination of care for student psychiatric hospitalizations and IOP, including pre-hospitalization and post-discharge care coordination and campus partner communication.

• Facilitation/coordination of annual mental health screenings, including data collection, risk identification, and outreach.

• Coordination of Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) testing and referrals.

• Coordination and administration of the eCheckUp alcohol screener in collaboration with post-doctoral fellow(s).

• Referrals to higher levels of care and referral coordination with on- and off-campus mental health partners, including ongoing maintenance of referral lists.

• Tracking and management of student athletes who qualify for coverage post-graduation as required by Pac 12 and CA state law.

• Facilitation of psychiatry referrals.

• Coordination of student athlete specific clinical groups and programs (e.g., CORE Power, Bodies In Motion, Sis You Good, Black Men in Sport, and more)

• Coordination of clinical documentation in electronic medical records (PnC).

• Creation, organization, and communication of crisis coverage system.

• Provide high-levelProgram Managementsupport to the Eating Disorder Treatment Program (“Optimal Performance Team”), the Drug Testing & Treatment Program, the Recovery from Injury through Skill Enhancement Program, and the Sport Psychology Training Program, as well as program management related to Program Management

• Program coordination and organization of above clinical programs and services.

• Benchmarking and research on best practices, instruments, programs, and interventions related to above clinical programs and services.

• Documentation related to above clinical programs and services.

• Information dissemination related to above clinical programs and services.

• Recruitment, onboarding and training coordination for the Sport Psychology Training Program.

• Survey development, dissemination and analysis related to above clinical programs and services.

• Coordination of team work, including team events and retreats.

• Coordination of faculty sport team travel, sport psych team calendar, and trainee sport team assignments.

• Additional duties:

• Participate in clinical faculty recruitment, onboarding, and training activities.

• Attend multidisciplinary faculty and staff meetings.

• Attend and contribute to various Athletics, Student Health, Psychiatry Department and campus meetings, fostering educational objectives and a consultative collegial environment.

• Participate in yearly merit review and performance evaluations, peer review, and other unit, departmental, and division teams and committees.

• Serve on committees, as desired/assigned.

• Perform other duties as necessary or assigned.

  Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in social work, marriage & family therapy, counseling, psychology, healthcare administration, occupational therapy; public health, or related field.

• Work experience on a college campus and/or with student athletes.

• Strong appreciation and skills for interacting with young adults (e.g., college students, graduate students, international students, etc.).

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Professional maturity and demonstrated ability to manage highly sensitive, confidential information.

• Multicultural competency in working with diverse colleagues and clients.

• Resilient, self-aware, and can thrive in a fast paced, demanding environment .

• Ability to balance autonomy, accountability, and collaboration.

• Experience or familiarity with electronic medical records.

  Preferred Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of project management and/or case management experience.

This is a full-time faculty position with an academic appointment in the Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences at the Keck School of Medicine of USC and clinical service assignment as the Sport Psychology Clinical Program & Case Manager within Clinical and Sport Psychology Services. Salary is competitive and contingent on experience. The annual base salary range for this position is $80,000-$105,000.
