The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in the Department of Pediatrics at USC and the Department of Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine in the Division of Comfort and Palliative Care at CHLA, are actively seeking a full time Palliative Care Physician (MD or DO) to join the faculty of the Division of Comfort and Palliative Care. Academic appointment through USC Keck School of Medicine is available at a level appropriate to training and experience.

The Division of Comfort and Palliative Care at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles supports a consultative service available to patients, their families, and medical staff. The Comfort and Palliative Care team is comprised of physicians, nurses, social workers and a psychologist. The goal of the Division’s efforts is to relieve suffering and improve quality of life for children with serious illness and their families.

The ideal candidate is passionate about palliative care, enjoys working within an interdisciplinary team, and can work collaboratively with referring providers. The candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, expertise in pain and symptom management, and should be comfortable providing end-of-life care for patients with complex medical conditions. Responsibilities include providing palliative medicine consultation and ongoing care within hospital and ambulatory settings, and communicating with primary medical teams. The physician will be expected to participate in educational activities with nurse and physician trainees. The Division also has many opportunities for research and quality improvement efforts.

Requirements :

-BC/BE in Hospice and Palliative Medicine

-BC in Pediatrics

-Active medical license in the State of California

The annual base salary range for this position is $x-$x.
