Overview External Ad Title: Backend Software Engineering & DevOps Manager Location: 70 W. Madison Street, Suite 4400, Chicago, IL 60602 Be a part of the department responsible for building and maintaining a Cloud based Internet of Things (IoT) platform for industrial equipment. Lead a team of engineers to architect, build, and maintain the backend software for an enterprise web application, create DevOps pipelines for build and deployment automation, ensure a stable operating environment and proper security implementations by leading a team of QA engineers and implementing a QA process; lead manual and automated testing of code as it works through various environments including Development, Quality Assurance, and Production; build and maintain data ingestion software that connect with enterprise systems, such as Salesforce and Syteline, to maintain accurate and current pricing, inventory, product data for the Ecommerce platform; maintain Cloud assets, prevent cost overrun, manage Azure subscriptions; work closely on a day-to-day basis with other technical leads to ensure best practices are followed and develop coding with overall platform requirements. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field and five (5) years of experience in a Software Engineering position. Five (5) years of experience must include: backend software engineering, architecting software systems, architecting scalable Microservices, building DevOps pipelines, maintaining Cloud assets, preventing cost overrun, and managing Azure subscriptions; developing industrial software systems through the entire product life cycle, from inception and roadmap, through design and development, into production. Must have two (2) years of experience supervising a technical team of engineers. Position is available for up to 100% remote work and 10% domestic and international travel.
