Essential Functions
Performs the job while following all AAA and industry safety guidelines as well as following Fleet’s policies and procedures.
Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections, diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts, and completing repairs.
Ensures equipment is available for use and meets DOT compliance standards by completing preventive maintenance schedules, and installing component and part upgrades.
Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as: power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering and/or hydraulics.
Assists in cost control by maximizing warranty usage and evaluating service and parts cost options.
Keeps shop equipment fully operational by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, and performing preventive maintenance.
Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Clear and proficient verbal and written communication even under pressure.
Advanced diagnostic capabilities and ability to utilize scan tools and diagnostic equipment.
Advanced knowledge of vehicle components and the common reasons for vehicle failure.
Demonstrates problem solving and listening skills as well as the ability to discern safety issues and respond appropriately.
Education & Experience/Licenses & Certification
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
5+ years related experience
Technical Training: Diesel/Medium-Heavy Truck
Experienced Master ASE Certified Medium-Heavy Truck Technician working with Cummins, MaxxForce, Allison, and Hino. Hydraulic systems, aftermarket system add-ons and chassis cab buildouts (Preferred) .

Licenses and Certifications
EPA Section 609 Technician Training and Certification (TT&C) - Air conditioning
Maintains current certifications (ASE, DOT, EPA Section 609 Technician Training and Certification TT&C).
Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Requirements
Minimum of 2 successful ASE certifications within: T2 - Diesel Engines, T3 - Drive Train, T4 - Brakes, T5 - Suspension & Steering, T6 - Electrical/Electronic Systems, T7 - Heating, Ventilation & Conditioning (HVAC).
