Sartorius Associate Scientist Organoid Workflow - Onsite in United States

As the Associate Scientist Organoid Workflow, you will primarily be located at our new Marlborough facility, with opportunities for collaboration at various Boston area locations. The successful candidate will work closely with both internal and external collaborators in a multidisciplinary team to lead and contribute to the successful generation of organoids for discovery and regenerative applications.

To advance next-generation organoid platforms, we are searching for a highly motivated associate/scientist who will be actively involved in conducting innovative research on organoid workflows.

This position will be located at our new Marlborough facility, as well as embedding opportunities with our key collaborators at various Boston area locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, conducting, and analyzing cutting-edge research projects independently in support of organoid generation and workflow enhancement.

What you will accomplish together with us:

  • You will conceive, design, and execute independent research projects that drive innovative organoid workflows for stem cell applications.

  • You will establish integrated workflow tools for the organoids, derived from stem cells

  • Establish suitable disease models that will not only serve to evaluate organoid workflow performance but also, inform on mechanistic disease progression, drug responses, and therapeutic interventions.

  • One of your tasks will be to identify and evaluate suitable technologies both internally and with external collaborators.

  • You will maintain routine cultures of Primary Cells including organoids as well as generation of Cryopreserved Organoid Bank.

  • You will be responsible for the technology transfer of promising technology candidates to internal Product development teams including and to external collaborators. This includes the potential for hands-on research support at the external collaborators

  • One of your duties will be to interface with internal and external users and engineers to track/improve/optimize workflow performance.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to fellow researchers on Sartorius equipment to enable/enhance organoid workflow.

  • You will collaborate with multidisciplinary team for functional and molecular level profiling/QC of generated organoids.

  • Propose innovative approaches and techniques to address organoid bottlenecks.

  • Preparation of first author Application Notes, Publications, Abstracts, Presentations, etc. as needed.

  • Assist in general lab management and upkeep.

  • Diligent maintenance of lab records, logs, and notebooks.

What will convince us:

  • You have a master’s degree in life sciences-related disciplines such as cell biology, immunology, or biotechnology with 3+ years of industry experience. Or bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of industry experience that includes cell & / or tissue science.

  • Experience of cell tissue culture of a range of cells including primary cells and cell lines of adherent and suspension.

  • Adept at key molecular biology techniques: mRNA expression profiling, Western Blot Analysis, ELISA, FACs, microscopy etc.

  • Applicant must operate autonomously and exercise agility in goal-oriented research.

  • Comfortable working with lab automation with the ability to troubleshoot/problem solve.

  • Strong desire to work on multidisciplinary projects working alongside data analysts, bioprocess engineers and biologists.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and balance individual technical contribution with coordination of fast paced research activities across multiple sites, organizations, and disciplines.

  • Must have a proven track record of innovation, curiosity, and forward-thinking.

  • Operatively oriented, proactive in finding solutions and positive mindset.
