Job Description

The Frank H. Dotterweich College of Engineering invites applications for a full-time, 9-month/academic year, tenure-track faculty as an assistant professor beginning the Spring 2025 (January 8, 2025) academic year in the Department of Industrial Management and Technology.

We seek a forward-thinking and dynamic faculty professor with strong interpersonal and communication skills. The right individual for this position should have excellent people skills, be a service-oriented faculty member, and be an excellent collaborator. Candidates should also be committed to advancing our student population's academic and professional success, be a team player, and contribute to meeting the goals of the Department, the College of Engineering, and the University.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses online and face-to-face

  • Mentor students and work with students on projects

  • Develop laboratory practices

  • Create student rapport

  • Participate with the Department on recruiting and retention activities

  • Establish an extramural-funded research program

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have earned a Ph.D. in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or in a closely related field and be qualified to offer courses and conduct research in two or more interdisciplinary research themes, including Transportation, Data Science, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Mechatronics, Control Systems, Information and Communication Technologies, Robotics, Engineering Management, Logistics and Supply Chain, and Scheduling.

  • At least one year of experience in Industry.

  • Demonstrate have worked with students on projects or capstone projects

    The Department offers a B.S. in Industrial Management and Applied Engineering Technology, with a minor in Business Administration and a minor in Construction Management.
