What we want

The Assistant Director for Finance, under general direction, performs moderately complex managerial work providing direction and guidance in strategic operations and planning.

What you need to know

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to the selected hire’s experience.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or closely related business field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Seven years’ experience in accounting or finance.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.

  • Knowledge of various accounting software systems.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Ability to apply rules and regulations in a complex environment.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities:

Leadership

  • Directs program activates of staff.

  • Maintains internal controls in compliance with laws, polices, regulations, rules, procedures, and sponsor guidelines.

  • Develops, implements, and evaluates policies and procedures and oversees compliance with policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Develops schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals.

  • Supervises and trains employees.

Communication and Collaboration

  • Provides monthly financial reports.

  • Oversees and maintains accounts payable and receivable.

  • Oversees special projects.

  • Provides representation during meetings, workshops, or training sessions.

  • Works with auditors in conducting audits.

  • Oversees the preparation of management and productivity reports and studies.

  • Identifies areas of needed change and makes recommendation to improve operations.
