Job Description
The Assistant Director, Event Services, is responsible for planning and coordinating special events for the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources. The role will primarily be responsible for the oversight, planning and implementation of special events.
Responsibilities:
Provides fiscal and budget plans for all special events and works directly with the fiscal operations team for these plans. Develop strategies, plans, short and long-term goals and objectives for events in partnership with the IISC team.
Manages and coordinates large conferences, retreats and special events. Oversee event and provide resolution to any issues. Generate communication, announcements and invitations to stakeholders and the public. Conduct site visits, book venues, and handles all logistical needs associated to events. Liaise with internal departments to create event proposals, secure speakers, and develop the event agenda. Coordinate online content and social media promotions.
Develop networking materials for use of event development. Work with the Information, Impact and Sustainability Center team regarding events, high-profile meetings, and other sponsored events. Work with the administrative personnel on managing event calendar and procurement/purchasing needs. Develops, implements and steers working committee groups for these events.
Participates and assists in college-wide events, activities, committees and performs other duties as deemed necessary.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree
Six years of related experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of web content development or layout, and fiscal/budget oversight.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office.
