Bozeman Health Applications Analyst Lead -Revenue Cycle in United States

Position Summary:

The Application Lead Analyst spends approximately 85% of time performing analyst work and 15% supporting Manager by monitoring team’s workload and work distribution, facilitating meetings, and assisting with scheduling and on call coverage. They are the primary provider of customer service for application related issues and opportunities. The role requires a blending of technical skills with a reasonable comprehension of the operational department and their information systems tools and requirements. In addition, this role provides analytical expertise to information systems end users with the overall objective of improving the use of application systems functionality, for example, enhance workflow, optimize business processes and identify appropriate systems solutions. This role requires deep functional and operational knowledge of multiple application areas; leads end users and delivery teams in the optimization of functionality; and designs enhanced functionality with users, vendors, delivery and support team. This role is able to apply the concepts of systems analysis to solve complex system problems, leads the effort to identify and resolve system issues, and coaches and mentors application analysts in their troubleshooting capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration or equivalent work experience (4+ years)

  • Epic certification within 6 months of hire, if applicable

  • Second Epic certification within 2 years of hire

  • 4 – 7 years of healthcare IT experience

Preferred

  • Minimum of 8 years healthcare IT experience

  • Epic or relevant third-party application

  • HL7 knowledge and experience

Essential Job Functions:

In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.

  • Represents team for meetings/governance or workgroups as needed

  • Develops and maintains schedules regular and on call as needed

  • Assists with timecards and pto requests

  • Evaluates and provides input on team work loads and ensures team work is appropriately distributed

  • Serves as an initial escalation point for service requests, incidents and projects

  • Gathers and analyzes data, documents findings, provides impact and cost/benefit analysis, and recommends specific systems changes/enhancements.

  • Develops functional and technical specifications for internal and external systems requirements.

  • Prepares time estimates for project activities and develops project schedules, monitors performance and reports progress toward those milestones.

  • Analyzes information flows to ensure greater integration of functions within the organization.

  • Serves as the primary analytical resource for end users and vendors regarding issues of application deployment, workflow, and overall system effectiveness.

  • Adheres to and enhances quality assurance standards and systems development and delivery methodologies.

  • Understands and applies system planning tools and methodologies to ensure compliance with standards.

  • Analyzes production problems and identifies solutions/changes; works with application vendors to resolve.

  • Provides project or support leadership, develops and manages project or support plans, manages one low to medium risk projects at a time.

  • Identifies and addresses implementation or support design issues.

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting, Pushing, and Pulling: Lift 30 pounds of weight (pick up supplies, move equipment, etc.) Carry equipment/supplies.

  • Extended Hours: The role may involve working for extended periods, requiring sitting, walking, or standing for eight or more hours daily.

  • Flexible Schedule: The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts

  • On-Call Availability: On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs

  • Effective Communication: Proficient in effective communication, both in person and through various technologies

  • Handling Challenging Situations: The role may involve dealing with upset individuals, requiring the ability to de-escalate situations and work effectively with frustrated patients, families, or employees

  • Repetitive Tasks: Ability to perform repetitive tasks as needed to fulfill job responsibilities

  • Bloodborne pathogens, such as blood, bodily fluids, or tissues.

  • Radiation in settings where medical imaging procedures are performed

  • Various chemicals and medications used in healthcare settings. Job tasks may involve handling cleaning products, disinfectants, and other substances.

  • Infectious diseases due to contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses
