Broker II - Marine Risk Engineering & Loss Prevention Specialist - Cargo and Logistics

As a Marine Risk Engineering & Loss Prevention broking specialist, you will report directly to the Marine Risk Engineering and Loss Control Practice Leader.

What the day will look like
Support marketing of new and renewal business, by provision of specialist marine risk engineering and loss prevention account analysis.
Perform operational exposure understanding discovery, identifying client best practice loss prevention implementations, and claims corrective actions.
Develop loss prevention narrative reports and provide oral presentation of same to support renewal submissions and marketing.
Build and maintain detailed knowledge of Cargo, STP and Logistics insurance marketplaces, products and risk engineering services.
Develop productive business relationships with key insurance underwriters, their risk engineering teams, and Aon local office teams.
Advocate for clients during insurer risk engineering visits, meetings and renewal processes.
Provide post-renewal consulting guidance for clients regarding specific loss prevention and risk improvement goals.
Support claims teams to achieve successful settlements through provision of specialist knowledge and claim circumstance analysis.
Stay up to date with emerging risks and be able to articulate effectively to internal teams, clients, prospects, and industry.
Develop positive relationships with supply chain and cargo theft prevention and security resources, subject matter experts and specialist services providers.
Coordinate activities with other internal units and resources as required to meet client needs.
Present to local account teams, participate in RFPs, client meetings and conference calls.
Key member of the client facing team, acting as a trusted advisor to the executive level client in loss prevention and risk management servicing of complex accounts.
Frequently interact with senior level colleagues and clients, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or clients and the company.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
Required Experience:
7+ years of marine cargo and/or logistics insurance brokerage, underwriting and/or related operations-based cargo and supply chain loss prevention experience.
Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, outstanding organizational skills, ability to make and communicate difficult decisions.
Effective solid understanding of carrier underwriting practices & processes.
Validated leadership skills in working with teams and ability to work with clients and to successfully exceed client expectations.
Proven client facing skills including effective presentations & communications.
Proven organization and ability to work with others.
Experience in resource deployment and utilization management.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at various levels.
Successfully operates in a fast-paced driven environment that requires the ability to handle several tasks simultaneously.
Sales experience preferred.
Must obtain and maintain appropriate broker’s license.
Knowledge of transportation and logistics security standards, and organizations, such as Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) preferred.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Pay Transparency Laws:
The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $135,000 - $175,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
