Microsoft Corporation Strategic Account Technology Strategist (FSI) in Singapore

If so, you might be the ideal candidate for the Strategic-Account Technology Strategist role at Microsoft.

As a Strategic-Account Technology Strategist for a large Financial Services client of Microsoft, you will be the Technology Mentor for our most strategic customer, focusing on digital strategy, innovation, security, and technology sales orchestration to drive the customers’ industry and business priorities. This role is a key role in a global account team. You will partner with the account executive of the region, and the extended account team globally to create and execute a holistic account strategy that aligns the customer’s technology landscape and roadmap with Microsoft’s solutions and services. You will also generate and qualify new opportunities, drive consumption and adoption of Microsoft cloud, and create thought leadership around emerging technologies such as Gen AI and narrow AI. As the virtual CTO for the client, you are part of the global Account CTO leadership team to guide the client towards technology direction aligned with Microsoft product roadmap, and bridge Customer Success team to influence engineering roadmap.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a deep understanding of the customer’s business and industry, a broad knowledge of Microsoft’s product portfolio and capabilities, and a strong network of internal and external resources to orchestrate the best outcomes for the customer. You will also need to have excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to influence and challenge senior decision makers. You will be a trusted advisor for the customer, a leader for the account team, and a voice of the customer for the product and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Research and understand the customer and their industry through multiple channels, including, but not limited to, digital sales resources, internal experts, executive sponsors, direct customer engagements, leading Account Strategy Envisioning workshops

  • Own the technical part of the account plan, keeping it refreshed regularly and maintaining a customer-approved 3-Horizon plan to illustrate technology initiatives driving the customer strategy

  • Document, maintain and communicate the customer’s technology architecture and roadmap

  • Build effective partnerships with Innovation/Transformation Leaders in businesses units and TDMs, connecting Industry/Business scenarios to solution areas and driving cross-cloud solutions, including partner solutions, to differentiate Microsoft from competitors

  • Use deep customer understanding to develop a digital strategy that will both benefit the customer through innovation and modernization as well as create net new pipeline by establishing new solutions based on Microsoft’s and their Partners’ technical capability

  • Run envisioning sessions in art-of-the-possible discussions to generate new opportunities and generate sound business use cases on digital transformation

  • Create and qualify new stage 1 opportunities for TDM-led engagements

  • Proactively manage the all-up consumption pipeline governance for the customer, orchestrating the relevant opportunity owners for existing projects and/or creating new customer project pipeline through TDM engagements

  • Clear communication & alignment of goals across the technology sales v-team to most effectively secure the customer’s desired outcomes with consistent rhythms

  • Lead by example daily with credible industry & technology expertise

  • Initiate proactive & frequent engagements around industry/business/technology insights

  • Create thought leadership with the customer to land the Halo and Solution Area conversations, especially in the areas of AI, Industry and Security

  • Apply your customer know-how to customize the approach according to your customer’s situation to build agreement on a meaningful and aligned roadmap for the customer

  • Orchestrate resulting opportunities with wider account team, extended resources within Microsoft, partners and industry solution delivery team.

  • Deliver regular (e.g., quarterly, monthly) industry/technology briefings to customer technology senior decision-makers

  • Embody Microsoft culture and values

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 12+ years technical consulting, technical consultative selling, business consulting, practice building, or related technical/sales experience OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years experience in Financial Services Industry is a plus.

  • 6+ years experience in digital transformation, or using technology to drive customer business outcomes.

  • Experience in leading complex and strategic accounts, developing and executing account plans, and orchestrating cross-functional teams.

  • Experience in creating and qualifying new opportunities, driving consumption and adoption of cloud and hybrid solutions, and creating thought leadership around emerging technologies.

  • Experience in building trusted relationships with senior executives and influencing their strategic vision.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts and solutions to different audiences and levels.

  • Strong network of internal and external resources, including partners, industry experts, product groups, and engineers.

  • Experience in a global account is a bonus.

  • Ability to travel up to 15% as the needs of the business require.
