Main responsibilities
Strategic Content
The Public Affairs Manager will have a major responsibility to lead Public Affairs activities at his/her country level for both MY and SG and execute the Public Affairs activities in accordance to our Play to Win Strategy.
His/her mandate will be to overlook the Public Affairs activities for both Pharma and Vaccines businesses within MYSG and elevate the country topics at TMS Corporate Affairs level.
This is a highly collaborative role which coordinates the relevant cross-functional sub-team and that must work cohesively with relevant functions.
Key Dimensions, Scope and Scale
Reporting directly to the Head of Corporate Affairs SEAI MCO the Public Affairs Manager will be leading public affairs, patient advocacy for MYSG for both Pharma and Vaccines business
This position requires a well-developed business understanding, with exceptional cross functional collaborative mindset and communication skills.
The incumbent is accountable for relationships with government agencies, healthcare professionals, patient advocacy groups, and other relevant stakeholders.
Oversee public affairs strategies, public policy advocacy, and works closely with internal teams to align corporate objectives with the unique regulatory landscape of the pharmaceutical sector in that region
The Public Affairs Manager will provide a strategic approach and coordinate the public affairs activities at the MYSG country level to support the implementation of our Play to Win Strategy.
This will include providing public affairs support to corporate functions and GBUs, shaping our external environment to support sustainable growth, ensuring we all speak with One Sanofi Voice, managing issues to protect our license to operate and enhancing our industry leadership around key platforms.
The Public Affairs Manager is also responsible for providing strategic public affairs and issues management advice to the Head of Corporate Affairs MCO and other relevant team members in cross functional setting.
He/she oversees our high-level external engagement with government and policy community
Keeps abreast of the external environment and understands how Sanofi is positioned and perceived externally and the actions we need to take to support our Play to Win strategy.
Positions Sanofi as an industry leader in the country, lobbying for a better ecosystem to support sustainable growth of life sciences industry.
Representing the interests of Sanofi to government ministers and officials, national policy decision makers, senior executives of trade associations, patient and professional organizations.
Oversees the development of a live stakeholder map of priority Government and policy influencers in the country and leads the implementation of a contact programme to develop trusted relationships with these individuals.
Works across the business to identify the cross-cutting policy priorities for the country’s business and ensure alignment of external messaging and public affairs activity. Seeks to secure improvements to pricing and access regulation, as well as new routes to market that are in line with business needs.
Oversees our engagement with relevant country’s patient organizations to support country’s business priorities and to ensure alignment with global activities.
Management of Resources
Accurately raises Purchase Requisitions with information provided by requestor and ensures such information is correct.
Updates systems in a timely way to reflect the current status of purchase orders and any deliveries of goods and services.
Attends to invoice system requests and queries quickly and efficiently.

About you
Essential Skills and Experience
Demonstrated strong understanding of government relations, policy and market shaping, plus lobbying efforts and experience in leading a PA or Gov Affairs Department in a MNC
A minimum of 5 years Healthcare exposure with good understanding of stakeholder engagement techniques, government affairs, market access and policymaking process
Experience in a senior role where business management, networking and leadership skills were a core landscape and relevance to industry/business strategy
Strength in collaboration and influencing, a strategic mind set, and a doer
Politically-savvy, interested in engaging with a large variety of stakeholders with proven leadership ability
Productive network with key media, government, policy and industry stakeholders and suppliers
Demonstrated ability to influence relationships and leverage knowledge internally across a matrix structure to drive collaboration and optimize opportunities to achieve shared goals.

Essential Qualifications
- Degree in Law, Mass Communications, Public Affairs, Public Policy or similar discipline
