Meta Manager, Infrastructure Automation and Tooling in Singapore

Summary:

Meta is looking for a manager to lead our PSAT-Deploy (Production Services Automation Team) team. The team is responsible for writing software as well as managing software to support business organization like ENS (Edge & Network Services), IBOS (Infrastructure Business Ops Support), IE (Infrastructure Enablement), Facility OPS, Site OPS, DEC (Design, Engineering & Construction). PSAT Engineers work with other IDC (Infra Data Centers) teams, sometimes embedded in those teams, collaborating in building and scaling technology solutions. Managing an PSAT-Deploy team requires a comprehensive understanding of a wide range of technologies, a focus on growing and developing the skills and talents of your team, and a relentless drive toward high-value projects and ruthless prioritization.

Required Skills:

Manager, Infrastructure Automation and Tooling Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and lead a strong technical team of 7+ engineers responsible for building software solutions for Meta's physical infrastructure

  2. Support and lead engineers working on Meta Infrastructure's tools and services, at different layers of the stack, on challenges related to scalability, reliability, performance and efficiency of infrastructure operations

  3. Understand and contribute to technical architectures, tooling needs, automation plans, product launch plans and create comprehensive plans for prioritizing technical and resourcing challenges

  4. Drive technical architecture discussions, even on subjects you haven't had direct experience working with

  5. Develop lasting partnerships with customer teams, product management, program management, network engineering, software engineering and other related groups to build and improve our ever-growing large-scale distributed infrastructure and product environment

  6. Empower engineers to develop their careers, matching their strengths with projects tailored to their skill levels, long-term skill development, personalities, and work styles

  7. Help build and enrich an inclusive work environment comprised of people from diverse backgrounds

  8. Assess employee performance on an ongoing basis, address under-performance, and recognize and promote performance

  9. Work closely with dedicated recruiting staff to expand the team including interviewing candidates, participating in conferences/events, and on-boarding new employees

  10. Balance the need to “keep things running” with allocating time to long-term, high-impact projects

  11. Partner with and build high quality relationships with other Meta teams

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 6+ years of direct management experience in a technology role

  2. 10+ years of experience solving complex infrastructure problems

  3. BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience

  4. Experience with infrastructure products, tools, services, networking, and troubleshooting

  5. Experience drafting and reviewing code

  6. Experience with building teams and/or organizations, including hiring and managing performance

  7. Experience with developing managers and organizational strategy

  8. Communication and cross-collaboration experience
