Bureau Vertias North America Project Manager Renewables in Saudi Arabia

PURPOSE OF POSITION

As part of the regional renewables business of Bureau Veritas, we are looking for an outstanding and recognized Renewable expert to join the regional renewables team and lead the Owner’s engineering services for Renewable projects, covering permitting and licensing, supply chain support, on-site construction management, commissioning, and handover to the Owner.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Understanding clients' objectives and requirements and ensuring projects deliverables are aligned with their expectations.

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communication and addressing any concerns or inquiries.

  • Providing timely updates and progress reports to clients, ensuring their satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Conducting multiple site visits to the awarded project location(s) and managing on-site teams and interacting with the customer and other project stakeholders.

  • Coordinating project activities, resources, and deliverables to ensure smooth execution.

  • Monitoring project progress, identifying, and resolving any potential issues or risks.

  • Supporting in the preparation of proposals bydeveloping comprehensive project plans, including scope, budget, and timeline. In addition to technical support for Business development team.

  • Developing project plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with project stakeholders.

  • Implementing quality control measures to ensure that construction activities meet or exceed industry standards and project specifications.

  • Monitoring project costs and ensuring adherence to the approved budget.

  • Maintaining the HSE standards as per client’s standards/ Bureau Veritas standards/ industry best practice.

  • Preparing QHSE/ incidental reports.

  • Checking and reviewing billing and invoicing raised by the EPC contractor against actual work done.

  • Supporting in permitting and licensing within the XXX region

  • Supporting in supply chain (elaborate the responsibilities and manage suppliers)

  • Supporting in the construction management (coordinating with contractors)

  • Ensuring smooth handover to owner.

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical or electrical).

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in project management of solar and/or other renewable energy projects, with an aggregate peak capacity of more than or equal to1000 MW

  • Solid understanding of solar PV, Hydro Power & wind systems and owner's engineering services.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing Renewable energy projects in the XXX Region.

  • Familiarity with industry design and construction standards, practices, and specifications.

  • Solid understanding of safety, environmental and quality regulations and standards in the construction industry.

  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, organizing, and resource allocation.

  • Experience with reputed big developers in the XXX Region will provide an added advantage.

  • Evidence of technical competence, self-motivation, flexibility, and problem-solving approach.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.

  • Strong commercial focus with the ability to identify and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Customer-centric thinker.

  • Specific training in solar photovoltaic technology will provide an added advantage.

  • Specific knowledge in Grid Interconnection background and Civil will provide an added advantage.

  • Professional certifications: Must have Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or similar credentials will provide an added advantage.

  • Proficient in using project management tools (MS Project or Primavera) and software for scheduling, cost tracking, and reporting.

  • Excellent IT skills particularly MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
