In this role, you will develop automation for database solutions in our compute infrastructure.

As a Software Development Engineer in Test II, you will be responsible for:

• Working with engineering teams to identify how to test proposed DB architecture and configuration changes.

• Developing and maintain automated test frameworks for database changes, including unit tests, integration tests, end-to-end tests, performance and chaos tests.

• Maintaining, patching and upgrade database servers (MySQL)

• Writing and maintaining scripts to automate database deployments, migrations and rollbacks.

• Investigating and troubleshooting database-related issues, identifying root causes and providing recommendations for solutions

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Demonstrate experience writing code in at least one object-oriented programming language.

• Have an excellent understanding of SQL query, schema design, normalization and lock contention strategies

• Have experience with performance testing tools (e.g. Sysbench) and chaos testing tools (e.g. Chaos Mesh)

• Have experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Jenkins and SaltStackHave experience with Docker.

• Have good Linux fundamentals, especially around performance tuning

• Be familiar with REST API interfaces and service-oriented architecture

• Have solid network fundamentals (HTTP, TLS, TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, etc.)
