Akamai's Information Security team is responsible for safeguarding Akamai, its customers, and the Internet worldwide. You will have the opportunity to address global security challenges and make the Internet a safer place.

Shape Internet Security

In this role, you will perform research, assess risks and mitigations, and design and build innovative solutions. You will create policies and standards, and secure the world's largest cloud provider and its customers.

As a Senior Security Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Owning the technical aspects of our internal security tools

• Configurating, documenting, analyzing posture, providing recommendations, testing, deploying, debugging, raising issues, and feature requests

• Assessing attack surfaces, weaknesses, vulnerabilities, mitigations, and risks

• Collaborating with the cross-functional teams to plan, scope, and create new technical solutions

• Developing your/our knowledge and skills

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a deep understanding of Internet technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, TLS, HTML, Proxies, OSI, IPv4, segmentation, and various servers/services)

• Have vast experience with public & private clouds and hypervisors security aspects

• Be proactive and passionate, help your colleagues, study, and ask questions

• Demonstrate written, verbal, and presentation skills, including communicating complex technical content in English

• Have experience in writing complex scripts, tools and services using Python, JavaScript/NodeJS, Go, or Rust
