Role purpose

As a GKN Automotive project manager you will lead transformation across our business delivering new technologies including infrastructure, applications, and processes throughout the organisation. You will be a key delivery contact for executive managers and stakeholders across our organisation directing internal and external partner teams to manage projects and deliver change.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive professional and effective project management for assigned initiatives using relevant Project Management methodologies and best practice tools/techniques, ensuring high quality delivery.

  • Delivery of projects to time, cost, and quality forecast.

  • Lead activities with external partners and suppliers to ensure effective integration of systems.

  • Build strong and enduring relationships between IT, business, and partner functions.

  • Innovate to build continuous improvement in delivery with strong project governance.

  • Build high performing teams that can work flexibly to deliver the required outcomes.

Skills

  • As a GKN Automotive project manager, you will play a pivotal role in building and leading high performing project teams, working closely with stakeholders across the business. You will bring proven relationship management skills and the ability to drive and deliver transformation. You will also show a highly developed ability to own and resolve conflicts and project issues and to manage multiple and complex project risks dealing with uncertainty.

  • A trusted advisor with excellent communications skills and the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.

  • Proven leader with a good understanding of business process including manufacturing and a track record in successful delivery of complex projects.

  • Experienced in contract and commercial management with a focus on budget control and forecast management.

Experience

  • You should have successfully operated as a Project Managerfor several years, you will have strong infrastructure and application knowledge ideally within a manufacturing organisation and understanding of business functions.

  • You will be both extremely client focused with an ability to guide a business through complex change and have proven relationship management skills negotiating at high levels.

  • Project management certification in recognised best-practice and frameworks such as MSP, APM, PMI, Prince2.

  • Project management experience of engaging with different project/program leads.

  • Role location is flexible but will be based within one of our existing sites

Education

Bachelors Degree required, Masters Degree preferred

This role reports directly into our IT Portfolio Manager
