Our team focuses on building the most reliable and scalable systems. We are responsible for defining, measuring, publishing, and optimizing Akamai's platform. We take a holistic view of complex systems and identify the measures which matter most to customers. Partnering with multiple teams, we address difficult problems that go beyond having simple answers.

Salary: 5000-7000 PLN gross/month

Partner with the best

As part of this excellent team, you will leverage your big data, distributed systems, network diagnostics and analytical skills to characterize performance, reliability and capacity of the system. In this position, you will help create and maintain the test analysis & simulation tools, supporting performance analysis of the team's various security systems.

As a Site Reliability Intern, you will be responsible for:

• Working closely with other SREs and Architects to write scripts and a web App to automate TOIL

• Monitoring, investigating, and analyzing platform performance and availability by (co)designing, managing, and tracking Akamai's platform-related SLIs/SLOs

• Developing and implementing innovative tools to improve monitoring, alerting and emergency response procedures and maneuvers

• Working closely with other Engineers to solve platform problems and make code fixes

• Recommending viable technical solutions that improve the effectiveness of the team and reduce technical debt

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have experience with Linux/Unix-like operating systems

• Have experience with programming or scripting such as Python

• Have experience with Python web frameworks such as Flask

• Have experience with networking protocols across the various layers

• Have experience or knowledge with writing queries on relational databases using SQL

• Enjoy troubleshooting problems across all layers

Work in a way that works for you

Our 6-month interm program starts in July. The program requires you to be available 40 hours per week during summer months (July-September). We offer the opportunity to work part-time during the academic year (October-December).
