The Global Environmental Program Manager will develop, implement, and monitor global environmental programs including waste reduction, energy management, GHG emissions reduction and water efficiency. This role requires a deep understanding of environmental regulations, sustainability practices, and cross-functional coordination to align local practices with global goals. The Program Manager will work closely with regional leaders, HSE, Engineering, and the global sustainability team to drive initiatives that improve environmental performance and compliance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Development & Strategy:

  • Design and implement strong governance for environmental programs across regions.

  • Develop an overarching strategy for environmental stewardship including waste reduction, water usage, energy efficiency, and GHG emissions reduction.

  • Develop a robust Global road map aligned with regional leaders.

Data Management & Analysis:

  • Manage and analyze data on global environmental performance while supported by the Sustainability Data Managers to monitor progress against established goals.

  • Create and maintain dashboards to report key metrics, identify trends, suggest improvements and benchmark.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with international, regional, and local environmental regulations and standards (CDP, DJSI, EU CRSRD).

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external environmental audits and certifications.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration:

  • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Manufacturing, R&D, Supply Chain, Corporate Sustainability, HSE, Engineering) to ensure environmental goals are understood and prioritized across the business.

  • Work with external stakeholders, NGOs, and environmental agencies to stay current on best practices and industry trends.

Training & Education:

  • Develop training programs to educate employees on environmental initiatives, sustainability practices, and their roles in supporting the company’s environmental goals.

  • Foster an environmentally conscious culture by regularly communicating the progress and impact of environmental programs.

Project Management:

  • Coordinate and track the implementation of environmental projects focusing on priority sites/Business Units/regions to ensure their contribution to environmental goals.

  • Provide strategic guidance and support to regional teams implementing local environmental projects aligned with global targets.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Evaluate and improve existing environmental processes, programs, and systems for efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Identify areas for innovation and growth, including emerging technologies, to enhance the company’s environmental performance.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in environmental management, sustainability, or a related field, preferably within a global or multi-site organization. 3+ years of experience leading global roles and working across regions and or Business Units.

  • Proven experience with environmental data management systems, reporting, and compliance.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead complex projects across multiple regions.

  • Technical knowledge related to clean carbon technologies, water efficiency, and waste reduction.

  • Excellent analytical skills with experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting.

  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with an ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Certifications: relevant environmental/sustainability certifications are a plus.
