Liberty Latin America Associate Manager - Mobile Networks Security in Panama

What's The Role

The Associate Manager – Mobile Network Security, will oversee the security controls in all the mobile networks and related technologies of LLA's operations. An experienced Mobile Network Security Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that security and integrity controls of our mobile network are in place. This role requires a deep understanding of mobile network technologies, security protocols, and threat mitigation strategies. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and manage security solutions that protect the mobile infrastructure from vulnerabilities, attacks, and unauthorized access.

Will work with employees and project teams within the company to deliver new implementations; and with our Operational teams to identify risks, understand the business impacts, and work to mitigate them.

What You'll Do

  • Define and Develop security measures to protect mobile network infrastructure, including LTE, 5G, and IoT networks.

  • Review security architecture for mobile networks, ensuring robust encryption, authentication, and access control mechanisms.

  • Collaborate with mobile, IT and /or and network engineering teams to integrate security protocols into network designs and configurations.

  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate potential threats.

  • Develop and enforce security policies for mobile network operations.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations such as 3GPP SA and GSMA.

  • Collaborate with external vendors and partners to evaluate and implement new security technologies.

  • Execute and control budget.

Required Education / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S. in information security, information technology, telecommunications or related focus).

  • Master’s Degree in management, business and/or information security is a plus.

Knowledge & Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in the telecom industry with a focus on mobile networks.

  • Extensive knowledge of mobile network technologies (e.g., GSM, UMTS, LTE, 5G) and security protocols (e.g., IPsec, SSL/TLS, PKI).

  • Familiarity with cloud security, virtualization, and containerization in the context of mobile networks.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks relevant to mobile network security.

  • Experience leading high technical and multicultural teams.

  • Strong writing & communication skills, in English and Spanish.
