About the role

Reporting into the Country Manager Benelux, the National Account Manager, is responsible for development of business opportunities and commercial outcomes for the distributors they manage. This role will be driving key portfolio plans to deliver commercial outcomes in line with budget expectations. This role will require negotiation skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects simultaneously.

Some of the responsibilities of this role include:

  • Develop and implement a business development plan aligned with channel strategies, prioritizing key National and Regional retail customers.

  • Lead annual joint business planning with customers, collaborating internally on category reviews, analysis, and brand presentations.

  • Plan, execute, and monitor sales and post-sales activities (promotions, proposals, new line or promotion forms, coding completion, and bottom-up forecasting).

  • Manage operational and commercial customer contact independently, depending on the customer.

  • Oversee back-office tasks related to commercial agreements, pricing changes, and processing promotional invoices (direct or via third parties).

  • Maintain close relationships with internal teams to ensure alignment on forecasts, stock levels, brand activations, and act as the main contact for escalations around customer orders and payments.

  • Support the execution and delivery of marketing activities, trade events, and tastings.

  • Handle general administrative tasks to enhance sales team efficiency, including travel coordination, meeting minutes, post, and other back-office duties.

About you

We are looking for an Account Manager ideally with experience in a distributor environment or FMCG experience.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years Sales Management experience with a proven sales track record in Business Development (winning tenders)

  • On Premise Retail & RTM sales experience, customer & portfolio management

  • Computer Literacy – Word, Excel, PowerPoint & email

  • Numerate with strong financial skills

  • Negotiation and presentation skills

  • Proven experience of driving commercial outcomes with customers

  • Strong communicator

  • Flexibility and adaptability is essential

  • Driving Licence
