Vectrus Master Driver Trainer in Marshall Islands

Overview

This position will be physically located in the Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP

Works under the direct supervision of the TMP Supervisor - TMDE, the Master Driver Training Instructor must be capable to facilitate and operate the training, testing, and licensing of military, DA/DOD, and contracting personnel for military driver licenses IAW USAG-KA AR 56-4, The USAG-KA Driver and Operator Standardization Program (Training, Testing, and Licensing), and local Command directives. Maintain and conduct requirements of the company Master Driver program as stated in conformance with the approved guidelines and internal operating procedures.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

  • Process requests for temporary, initial, and/or updated for an approved USAG-KA Operator Permit Motor Vehicle Operator's Identification card, for authorized personnel to include, but not limited to, military, DA/DOD civilian, and contractor-employed personnel.

  • Proper handling of PII or sensitive information.

  • Provide training IAW USAG-KA AR 56-4, the Army Drivers Selection and Operator Standardization Program or the most current industry military standards.

  • Maintain oversight of commercial and non-tactical vehicle operating training program.

  • Establish an effective training program on operating tactical and non-tactical vehicles/equipment.

  • Ensures assigned operators, department master drivers, examiners, and licensing personnel are trained and licensed IAW USAG-KA AR 56-4

  • Ensures that all licensed drivers are given annual sustainment training IAW company policy and USAG-KA AR 56-4; ensures training records are updated accordingly.

  • Ensures AR 385-55 the Army Regulation for the prevention of motor vehicle accidents are emphasized in training.

  • Monitors driver’s performance, and where appropriate, drivers with good performance records receive for sustained performance.

  • Develops guidance for interviewing and selecting driver candidates and suggested interview questions.

  • Monitors records and performance of drivers to determine if remedial training is needed.

  • Ensures all section master drivers have an appointed master driver and a valid copy of appointment orders.

  • Ensures personnel receive proper training on performing PMCS.

  • Conduct reviews of operators records for accuracy and completeness as required.

  • Attends all accident review boards and provide input/recommendation.

  • Perform Bus Check Rides and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: Three years related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

  • Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Must provide a copy of the diploma.

  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License

  • Must have at least four (4) years of experience as a contractor or military master driver/master trainer and instructor on Tactical and Non-Tactical Vehicles (NTV) including commercial vehicles of all classes

  • Ability to meet required deadlines and maintain necessary workflow.

  • Commercial Class A Driver’s license – with air brake endorsement

  • Must be able to operate vehicles and equipment with a manual transmission.

  • Experience:

  • Six (6) years of experience as a contractor or military master driver/master trainer and instructor on commercial and military vehicles.

  • Three (3) years of experience in equipment maintenance at the journeyman level.

  • Excellent computer, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills required.

  • Computer skills include a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and USG Army Information Systems (AIS).

  • Requires excellent organizational skills; with the ability to work under fast paced and adverse conditions.

  • Skills:

  • Excellent Must be team oriented; possess excellent organizational, time management and writing skills to include analyses.

  • Must be computer and software literate, experienced in Microsoft applications.

  • Must have good platform skills and experienced in classroom instruction.

  • Excellent customer service skills; clear and coherent speech; ability to work with others.

  • Ability to present technical information clearly and simply.

  • Ability to perform to standards of USAG-KA AR 56-4

  • Working Conditions:

  • Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, wet, tropical environment with average temperatures of 130 degrees in the summer months).

  • Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.

  • The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard about ambient noise level.

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.

  • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.

  • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
