Ford Motor Company Core Tooling Engineer in Chihuahua, Mexico

Outlined below are the Roles and Responsibilities (R&R's) of the activities within the Powertrain Operations Manufacturing Engineering for a Core Tooling Engineer. Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering (PTME) is primarily responsible to deliver facilities that produce new product programs. There are also ongoing responsibilities to support PTME processes and internal business partners.

• Complete program studies estimating cutting tool needs, related costs, and developing new cost models for inclusion in the BoP for new processes/technologies.

• Conduct standard machineability testing for work materials, tools and processes.

• Conduct ergonomic analysis to support tool management activities for new facilities and develop/document standards as needed.

• Develop new specifications, standards, procedures and guidelines for all new tooling processes. Drive common practices and insure understanding through teaching modules and program support.

• Create/Update/Maintain all tooling specifications, standards, procedures and guidelines.

• Implement standard tool management system in all new Powertrain Plants.

• Provide oversight and guidance to the process teams in the approval of existing tool types, designs and processes.

• Lead the development of new tool types, designs and processes for features not currently a part of the established library, or experience base within PTME. Generate GCPL whenever practical.

• Update/Maintain BoP costs for tooling and tool management facilities to be used by the process teams during cost study preparation.

• Provide oversight and guidance to the process teams in the development of cost studies.

• Evaluate and implement new tooling technologies.

• Provide tooling information and other details in support of 1295 generation by third party.

• Update/Maintain GESWP for Tooling and Tool Management facilities.

• Liaise with PTO plants during the launch of new manufacturing processes resolving technical issues as they arise. This applies to new technologies only.

• Support Process Engineering teams relative to their deliverables.

  1. The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic or Electromechanical Engineering.

  2. The candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in developing manufacturing processes.

  3. Excellent communication skills in professional English, both oral and written.

  4. Must have United States of America VISA and Passport available.

  5. Ability to work collaboratively with different teams.

  6. Strong problem-solving skills.

  7. Skills in Autocad, Quality tools (Process Capabilities), Teamcenter, Project management, Microsoft Office

  8. Basic Statistical skills and drawing interpretation

  9. Acknowledge in 6 sigma disciplines

  10. Experience with Quality Standards and Regulations.

  11. Experience in Purchase Orders generation and follow up to invoice payment.

  12. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.

  13. Strong organizational and time management skills.

  14. Flexibility to work extended hours as required and travel for long periods of time.
