V2X Fleet Manager in Kuwait

Overview

This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP

Under the directions of the Installation Transportation Director, assigns daily duties and supervises assigned bus drivers and shuttle bus operations. Oversees Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) for government furnished and leased vehicles, provides daily status on all equipment and verifies accuracy of the GFE and Leased Vehicles Status Report. Responsible to verify all vehicle operators are properly licensed and must have proper training to operate vehicles, conduct refresher training as needed. Responsible for the safe and timely transport of all passengers. Fully monitors operations to ensure safety and environmental policies are being followed. Ensure that safety standards, security procedures, and departmental rules are observed and maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Determines assets needed for daily mission and coordinate the shuttle bus service in and around the Kuwait Area of Responsibility (AOR).

  • Provide direction to all employees under their direct supervision. Performs the full range of first line supervisory duties to include mission planning, training and counseling duties for all employees under their supervision.

  • Performs daily supervisory tasks covering all of the employment and employee services activities.

  • Conduct Daily Safety Moments and Briefings

  • Ensure PMCS is conducted on Government Furnished and Leased Equipment

  • Ensure the daily missions are briefed, understood and implemented

  • Conduct routine checks of the AOR ensure drivers and operators are complying with safety and environmental policies and procedures.

  • Ensure Preventive Maintenance Checklist are provided and ready available for all equipment.

  • Oversee the execution of the overall daily PMCS. Ensure current vehicle services and maximum utilization of equipment usage. Track miles/kilometers and hours used for each piece of equipment.

  • Coordinate with the leased vehicle vendor / subcontractor for maintenance, repair and services. Provide the Transportation Manager with a Daily/Weekly Equipment Status Report.

  • Respond to emergencies and accidents. Assists in accident investigation to help determine cause and reports findings to appropriate safety and management personnel as required.

  • Responsible for the Key Control program of all assigned Vehicles on hand.

  • Responsible for prioritizing missions.

  • Ensure that all buses are clean and staged IAW with Company and USG regulations.

  • Monitor subcontractor performance and address any issues that may arise with service. Assist with disciplinary action, when appropriate.

  • Implements and maintain a safe workplace program, ensuring safety is the highest priority.

  • Communicates professionally, both orally and written.

  • Interacts professionally with the customer and other agencies.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education/Certifications: Five year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

  • Must be high school graduate or equivalent. A valid Drivers License and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operators License are required.

  • Experience:

  • Five (5) years’ experience in transportation and maintenance operations or equivalent with at least two (3) years of experience as a supervisor.

  • Skills:

  • Ability to demonstrated leadership and management skills in a professional demeanor is required.

  • Ability to work effectively with employees and management of all levels to include multinational staff, superiors and ranking military offices.

  • Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment, with the ability to understand the effect of decisions is required.

  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office.

  • High-level organizational and planning skills, so that workflow is managed efficiently and accurately.

  • Working Conditions:

  • The worker is subject to extreme cold. Temperatures typically below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.

  • The worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.

  • The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.

  • The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.

  • The worker is subject to vibration. Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
