UL, LLC Business Development Manager in South Korea

Korea is a sub-region in the Asia-Pacific Region and Regional Business Development Manager will report directly to Korea Regional Managing Director as the position is focused on regional business growth strategies and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

As the Regional Business Development Manager for Korea, you will play a pivotal role in driving our growth strategy and expanding our market presence. Reporting directly to the Korea Regional Managing Director, your responsibilities will include:

Strategic Growth Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive country growth strategies, including Long-Range Plans (LRPs), in collaboration with the Asia-Pacific regional team and local business, account, and sales leaders.

Market Analysis and Insights: Serve as a trusted advisor on the Korean market, providing regular updates to internal leadership on emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges. Conduct in-depth research through industry expert meetings, government and media reports, and industry conferences.

M&A Support: Actively contribute to the Corporate Development team by identifying potential M&A targets within Korea and providing on-the-ground support for all M&A-related activities.

Partnership Development: Cultivate strong relationships with local certification bodies, government ministries and agencies, industry associations, and academic experts to generate new growth ideas and leverage existing networks.

Quarterly Market Updates: Prepare informative quarterly reports on the Korean market for global and regional leadership, highlighting key business initiatives and industry trends.

Leadership and Collaboration: Lead and coordinate key country-level initiatives in support of the Regional Managing Director, fostering collaboration and alignment across teams.

Qualifications

Experience and Education

Minimum 10 years of experience in B2B business development and market analysis, with a proven track record of driving successful company growth plans.

Bachelor's degree or higher in business management or a related field.

Language Proficiency

Fluency in Korean and English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Leadership and Interpersonal Skills

Proven leadership abilities, including strategic thinking, creativity, and critical thinking.

Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively conveying complex information to diverse audiences, including senior management, clients, and team members.

Business and Industry Knowledge

Deep understanding of the Korean business landscape and cultural nuances.

Passion for and knowledge of UL Solutions' target industries (automotive, digital, energy and sustainability).

Professional understanding of UL Solutions' service areas and solutions.

Strong understanding of key industry trends, global technology standards, and product regulatory compliance within UL Solutions' target industries.

Professional Skills

Proficiency in MS Office, especially PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote.

Extensive experience in English-language presentations to senior executives.

A self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, global environment.

Preferred Qualifications

While not strictly required, the following experience and skills would be advantageous:

Industry Expertise: Deep understanding of specific industries like Automotive & Future Mobility, Sustainability & ESG, or Energy Transition.

Multinational Experience: Prior experience working in a multinational company.

Technology Trends: Strong grasp of global technology trends in consumer and industrial sectors.

Government Policy: Experience analyzing government industrial policies.

Stakeholder Relationships: A history of successful collaboration with industry associations and key stakeholders.
