Overview

Serves as a member of the Project Management Office. Operate an existing hospital and clinics and provide on-site primary, urgent, and initial emergency care with physicians, NPs, PAs, and support staff broadly trained and certified to provide general and specialty care, including surgery, orthopedics, neurology, gynecology, radiology, emergency medicine, critical care, Teladoc consultation capability, mental health care, and triage. Stabilize and evacuate patients to the next level of medical care, as required

Responsibilities

Major Job Activities:

• Typical duties include, but are not limited to: assisting with the managing of day to day activities and prioritizing tasks; attending and participating in a variety of meetings and task force groups to improve quality and outcomes; communicating issues; obtaining approvals; resolving problems and maintaining specific levels of knowledge pertaining to new developments, new task efforts, and new policy requirements; responsible for the oversight and coordination of medical evacuation (ground and air) both within and out of Iraq; responsible for the medical oversight and coordination of MASCAL training and drills

  Material & Equipment Directly Used:

  Excellent computer, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required. Computer skills include a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

  Physical Activities:

  Iraq is in an unstable region of the world in a physically challenging and stressful environment. It may require unusual physical exertion under unfavorable conditions including exposure to extremely hot and dusty conditions, air pollution, and uneven and rocky terrain. Personnel shall be able to perform certain emergency functions to include responding to duck-and-cover alarms, quickly seeking cover in a protected bunker, opening heavy doors (some more than 100 pounds), climbing stairs, and boarding/de-boarding helicopters without requiring assistance from others.

  Employees must be willing and able to perform job requirements in this environment, as well as deploying to Iraq for extended periods. Work schedules are typically six (6) days per week and twelve (12) hours per day. Employees may be performing physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors. All employees must be able to move quickly to cover during security alarms. This includes being able to lift, carry and/or wear forty (40) pounds of personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time and being capable of running during emergencies without putting oneself or others at risk. All staff must maintain physical and dental requirements for duration of deployment.

Qualifications

Education / Certifications:

• Maintain a current unrestricted U.S. (State) license as a Physician;

• Emergency Medicine Specialist (defined by current board certification) with a broad interest and experience providing primary care across the range of office-based general specialties including, but not limited to, GYN, dermatology, ENT, pulmonary, neurological, cardiovascular, ophthalmology, orthopedics, psychology, and gastroenterology. Current ATLS and ACLS are required. Or

• Family Medicine Specialist (defined by current board certified or equivalent board certification) with interests as described above and with interest, additional training, and practice experience to include the broad range of gynecologic, medical, surgical, orthopedic, psychiatric, and trauma emergencies. Current ATLS and ACLS are required. Or

• Internal Medicine Specialist (defined by current board certified or equivalent board certification) with interests as described above and with interest, additional training, and practice experience to include the broad range of gynecologic, medical, surgical, orthopedic, psychiatric, and trauma emergencies. Current ATLS and ACLS are required. Maintain current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR);

• Have recent completion of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) or comparable advanced trauma course featuring “live tissue” or exceptional simulation training is highly desirable;

• Licenses must be in good standing, without restrictions, and maintained through the period of employment;

• ACLS and ATLS must be current throughout the period of employment.

• All health care providers and medical support staff must have recent clinical experience in patient care for at least six months out of the past year.

  Experience / Skills:

• At least five years of experience as a General / Chief Medical Officer Experience working in a diverse and multicultural environment, preferably in an international setting. (may consider requiring at least 2 years international experience)

• Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work effectively under pressure and in challenging conditions.

• Microsoft 365

• Proficient in electronic health record management, coding, and systems utilization
