What you will do

Backup Systems Engineer is responsible for the daily, weekly, and monthly activities required to keep a client backup system running at peak performance, while focused on delivering on the architecture for backup. The Backup Systems Engineer is responsible for a variety of technical projects, to deliver on the backup system implementation, and keep the technology current.

Additionally, this role requires knowledge of backup solutions such as Cohesity Data Protect and involves monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting backup systems to ensure data availability and protection for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Detailed knowledge of Cohesity Data Protect

  • Configure file system backups, VM snapshot backups, and database backups, as well as perform data restores as needed.

  • Conduct regular health checks on backup systems and monitor daily backup jobs to ensure optimal performance.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to backup failures, ensuring data integrity and availability.

  • Additional SAN fabric protocols, SAN routing and zoning configuration, Brocade Switches, HP and EMC storage systems, and various SAN management solutions.

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • 6-10 Years Backup technology support experience

  • Knowledge of Brocade Switch Fabric Operating System

  • Ability to work off-hours when required

  • Ability to provide on-call support

  • Ability to resolve issues before they become critical

  • Innovative, self-motivated, and able to interact with all levels of the organization
