Cardinal Health Engineer (P3) – Middleware Integration (GKE) in India

Middleware/Data Integration services team is part of EIT - Shared Services Organization and is responsible for managing multiple integration platforms and integration artifacts across the organization. Team is focused on managing platforms and delivering data movement and data transformation solutions to support business critical operations and analytics.

Job Description

As an GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine) Data Engineer, your primary responsibility is to design, develop, and implement integration solutions.

SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrates subject matter expertise in GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine) Data Engineer and either one of the integration technologies Kafka, Qlik Attunity, and Dell Boomi as an additional skills.

  • Implementing message validation, transformation, routing, and enrichment logic using various integration patterns.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of relational databases (MS SQL, Oracle, IBM DB2, SAP HANA, etc.).

  • Demonstrate leadership capabilities in designing, developing, and successful implementation of enterprise scale integration solutions

  • Provide thought leadership to drive or establish architecture patterns to build highly available systems and integrations to support business critical applications.

  • Demonstrates expertise with Google Cloud Platform and other Cloud platforms like AWS.

  • Demonstrates willingness to learn new products/technologies and is an effective team player.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of configuring and deploying applications preferably using Docker on Google Cloud Platform and other cloud platforms.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of software development life cycle, modeling of business processes, application design patterns, business/functional documents. Estimates to high level business requirements and provide options analysis.

  • Demonstrates hands on experience with one or more programing languages (Java/J2EE, Shell/Perl/ Python scripting)

  • Leverages fluency in technical languages, operating systems, application programming interfaces, and troubleshooting skills.

  • Communicates effectively with various cross functional and technology teams (app dev, deployment, testing, project).

  • Ability to define work processes and lead team members in successful implementation

  • Demonstrates conceptual knowledge of architecture standards and database and operating systems.

  • Demonstrates problem solving ability that allows for effective and timely resolution of system issues including but not limited to production outages.

  • Analyzes production system operations using tools such as monitoring, capacity analysis and outage root cause analysis to identify and drive change that ensures continuous improvement in system stability and performance.

  • Troubleshooting and resolving Run issues related to Production systems, integration processes, message flows, and connectivity with external systems.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications / Skills Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience

  • 3-7 years of experience in software development with a strong Java or Python programming background

  • Strong application development skills using Java, SpringBoot, Node.JS and GOlang applications

  • Good to have knowledge on GCP services like App engine, GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Built, Anthos, Big Query, Data Proc.,

  • Implement and manage GKE clusters, ensuring the efficient deployment and scaling of containerized applications.

  • Optimize GKE configurations for performance, availability, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Good Understanding of GCP core services like Google cloud storage, Google compute engine, Cloud SQL, Cloud IAM.

  • Good experience in CI/CD processes and tools

  • Good experience in REST API development and best practices.

  • Working knowledge on GCP, ETL, GCP Big Query, Python, Shell Script development.

  • Good knowledge of Industry Best Practice for ETL Design, Principles, Concepts.

  • Design Data Pipelines: work with other Data Engineering personnel on an overall design for flowing data from various internal and external sources into the Analytics platform.

  • Develop data migration, conversion, cleansing, retrieval tools and processes (ETL)

  • Operating Systems: Windows and Linux
