IHG Hotel Manager - Kimpton Hong Kong TST in Hong Kong

As Hotel Manager, you’ll provide leadership direction to the hotels by driving development of people, creating and maintaining memorable guest experiences, executing on brand standards, and building awareness of hotel and brand in the local community. You will report directly to General Manager, and may need to act as the General Manager in his/her absence.

People

  • Direct everyday activities, plan and assign work ensuring you always have the right staffing numbers

  • Develop your team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback, and create performance and development goals for colleagues - recognise good performance

  • Train colleagues to make sure they deliver with compliance and to the standards we expect and have the tools they need to work efficiently

  • Recommend or initiate any HR elated actions where needed

  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management

Guest Experience

  • Interact with guests and outside contacts including current and potential clients, government officials, travel industry representatives, suppliers, competitors local community members

  • Make sure the hotel delivers the highest level of guest satisfaction through superb guest services and amenities

Responsible Business

  • Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, team members and hotel assets in compliance with the hotel’s or owner’s policies and procedures and regulatory requirements. Maintain relations with outside contacts

  • Act as public relations representative to raise awareness of hotel and brand in local community

  • Drive team member involvement in community organisations, activities and businesses

  • Develop and carry out action plans to be environmentally conscious by taking steps to reduce the hotel’s carbon footprint

  • Perform other duties as assigned. May also serve as manager on duty

Financial

  • Help the General Manager in the development, implementation and monitoring of financial and operational plans for the hotel to ensure optimum guest satisfaction, sales potential and profitability

  • Make recommendations for capital improvements to enhance the assets of the hotel and/or company and brand loyalty

Your Day to Day

  • Directly oversees all hotel operations (inc. shared spaces of Mariner’s Club) to include but not limited to;
  1. Front Office (inc. Reception, Concierge, PBX, Night Audit, Bell/Door/Valet)

  2. Housekeeping (inc. Guestrooms, Public Space, Meeting Space, Laundry)

  3. Engineering (inc. Security/Loss Prevention, IT, Landscaping)

  • Responsible for the overall recruitment & training program, as well as the employee journey + engagement.

  • Responsible for the overall curated guest journey and guest service satisfaction.

  • Creates and manages individual departmental and line employee specific daily checklists, in order to uphold daily shift standards across total property including shared spaces of Mariner’s Club.

  • Conducts daily /weekly operations meetings with all department heads to ensure high levels of interdepartmental communication is upkept across total property including shared spaces of Mariner’s Club.

  • Conducts weekly/monthly catch-up meetings with Mariner’s Club appointed colleagure to maintain and upkeep regular communication.

  • Conducts daily & weekly property walk throughs with all department heads to ensure the standards and service levels, cleanliness levels, functionality levels, etc are upkept across entire property to include shared spaces of Mariner’s Club.

  • Manages monthly / quarterly departmental level meetings and employee engagement functions to ensure training, engagement, and evolution is maintained.

  • Maintains P&L financial accountability for all abovementioned operational departments and communicates when and where appropriate with Mariner’s Club appointed colleague:

  1. Daily cashiers

  2. Operational Expenses & Budget/Forecast Planning (inc. projects that may impact shared spaces of Mariner’s Club)

  3. CapEx Projects & Planning (inc. projects that may impact shared spaces of Mariner’s Club)

  4. Purchase Orders, Checkbook, Invoices

  5. Contract Service Negotiations (inc. contracts that may impact shared spaces of Mariner’s Club)

  6. Departmental Profit Margins
