This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of Manulife’s Asia distribution – both in terms of the transformative changes required in the short- to medium-term as well as the game-changers required to build longer-term competitive advantage. This role is not simply about putting strategy and plans on a page – rather it encompasses both the strategic element as well as taking a pragmatic approach to planning how to capture value in the short-term. Working closely with the Asia Chief Distribution Officer and the Head of Asia Distribution Strategy, there is large scope for impact and driving massive change!

What motivates you?

  • You think big, with curiosity to discover ways to use your agile mindset and enable business outcomes

  • You thrive in teams, and enjoy getting things done together

  • You take ownership and build solutions, focusing on what matters

  • You do what is right, work with integrity and speak up

  • You share your humanity, helping us build a diverse and inclusive work environment for everyone

We are looking for someone with the following experience and traits:

  • Experience in having conceived and executed on transformation end-to-end to create tangible value. Familiarity with an agile organizational model is essential

  • Autonomous Operation: Ability to drive broad priorities independently with minimal guidance from senior leadership

  • A strong understanding of where and how value is created. We are obsessed about impact, not the plans themselves!

  • High Intellectual Curiosity: Have an insatiable curiosity to learn and a proactive approach to leaning in on new opportunities, even those outside their comfort zone.

  • Strategic Agility: Sees ahead clearly and can anticipate future consequences and trends accurately; can articulately paint credible pictures and visions of possibilities and likelihoods

  • Results Orientation: Delivers beyond expectations and sets new and stretching goals for him/herself. S/he will have a deep understanding of operational and process improvements that impact quality and execution and deliver continuous improvement

  • Process Management: Can identify and articulate the processes necessary to get things down efficiently and effectively

  • Planning & Priority Setting: Demonstrate an ability to set objectives and goals and organize work appropriately to meet and exceed goals

  • Problem Solving & Decision Quality: Able to use rigorous logic, and a highly structured approach and methods to solve problems with effective solutions

  • Organizational Savvy: Able to build constructive and effective relationships and use them to maneuver through complex situations

  • Influencing & Negotiation: Can present ideas and directions that lead others to action – internally (within the team, stakeholders within region and markets), and externally

  • Risk Management: Ability to think ahead and catch problems before they arise

  • Ambidextrous: Able to work on multiple key efforts simultaneously, welcoming ambiguity and regular change

  • An articulate and top-down communicator

More specific to this role you will:

  • Own the design and roll-out of strategic initiatives across markets – which will combine current state analysis, problem solving, solution planning, execution orchestration and change management

  • Hand-in-hand to drive strategic initiatives and realize impact

  • Continuously identify and address opportunities to develop our business across core strategic themes

  • Develop communities of practice across core strategic themes - coach practitioners and ensure that best practices are identified and synergized across markets

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization to ensure effective end-to-end delivery

Our commitment to you:

  • Our mission; to be a part of making Decisions Easier and Lives Better

  • A leadership team dedicated to your growth and success

  • A bold ambition and set of goals to be a leader in driving transformation in our industry

  • Our best. Every day.
