Oracle Senior Linux Systems Administrator in United Kingdom

Job Description

Very strong Linux and Kubernetes skills are a must for this role

We value individuals that are self-starters who have a passion to learn, build, automate and rollout infrastructure services globally.

Help build a team that responses to incidents, troubleshoots production issues, interfaces with internal customers, collects data and provides feedback on how to improve operations and platform's stability.

  • Work with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team on the shared full stack ownership of a collection of services and/or technology areas.

  • Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioural characteristics of production services.

  • Partner with development teams in defining and implementing improvements in Operations.

The team will act as the first escalation point for complex or critical issues and will be responsible for initial triaging and coordination of production incidents.

Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

  • B.E or M.E degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related technical field involving coding or equivalent practical experience.

  • Industry qualifications on Linux & Kubernetes (Oracle, RedHat, AWS etc)

  • Very strong skills with Linux Systems Administration (Oracle / RedHat), building, configuring, performance tuning.

  • Strong skills with building, supporting, maintaining Kubernetes clusters.

  • Troubleshooting and performance tuning skills on both Linux & Kubernetes.

  • Strong shell scripting.

  • Strong Python skills.

  • Experience with Go desirable.

  • 5+ years experience in DevOps or SRE roles running very large scale infrastructure.

  • Very strong automation experience in Linux based environment.

  • Excellent skills with Git and Terraform.

  • Extremely well versed with commonly used networking protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP/S, DNS, SSH.
