IHG Yoga Instructor - Six Senses Courchevel in France

In this role, I will behave in a professional manner and set an example to all. I will abide by Six Senses principles, core values, best practices, guidelines and objectives, while respecting other cultures and nationalities and projecting a positive and proactive position to help build and maintain a strong, loyal team.

My duties and responsibilities will include :

  • Greet guests on arrival and conduct check-in and registration procedures in an efficient and friendly manner, using guest name whenever possible.

  • Check and set up the daily operations and supply of the yoga areas and male and female changing areas according to standards.

  • Greet the guest upon entering and leaving the fitness areas and explain to them the general procedures.

  • Request and collect stock and supply in accordance with minimum stock levels (for towels, linen, food & beverage, and other minor operating supplies).

  • Answer telephone calls and queries and give accurate details regarding fitness inquiries.

  • Maintaining the cleanliness of yoga equipment after every guest use.

  • Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations governing sports, recreational activities, and the use of exercise equipment.

  • Offer alternatives during classes to accommodate different levels of yoga.

  • Plan routines, choose appropriate music, and choose different movements for each set of muscles, depending on participants’ capabilities and limitations.

  • Teach and demonstrate.

  • Monitor participants’ progress and adapt programs as needed.

  • Evaluate individuals’ abilities, needs, and physical conditions, and develop suitable training programs to meet any special requirements.

  • Provide guests with information and resources regarding nutrition, weight control and lifestyle issues.

  • Administer emergency first aid, wrap injuries, treat minor chronic disabilities, or refer injured persons to physicians.

  • Advise clients about proper clothing and shoes.

  • Perform yoga classes and personal yoga trainings as per Six Senses Spas standards.

To execute the position of yoga teacher, I confirm that I have the required qualifications, technical skills and at least three years’ experience in a similar or greater role in luxury spas and health clubs with proven results.

I have recognized Yoga Instructor certification, minimum 500hours and in various disciplines including meditation and pranayama’s and ideally also have studied or have broad knowledge on anatomy and physiology and massage therapy.

A Bachelor’s degree in physical education preferred. I have knowledge in use of MS Office, have a good command of English (written and spoken) and I keep myself updated with the latest trends in fitness and wellness.

Technical skills include MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Ideally I do have knowledge in the use of various Spa management systems, such as Spa booker, Aphrodite, even Opera.

I have an excellent command of written and spoken English and some knowledge of French
