The Hotel is 10 minutes away from the “new” Grand Egyptian Museum and 15 minutes from the Great Pyramids of Giza. It is also in close proximity to Cairo International Airport and will be just 10 kilometers away from Sphinx International Airport. Business and leisure travelers can get the best of both worlds with three meeting rooms and a business center along with an outdoor pool and Club Lounge

We are currently looking for a Pastry Sous Chef to join our amazing team at Crowne Plaza West Cairo – Arkan.

Your day-to-day:

• Manages all day-to-day operations of the pastry and bakery section of the kitchen.

• Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes (https://setupmyhotel.com/homepage/hotel-management-glossary/cake.html) , cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes.

• Able to develop, designs, or creates new ideas and items for Pastry Kitchen.

• Create new and exciting desserts to renew hotel’s (https://setupmyhotel.com/homepage/hotel-management-glossary/hotel.html) menus. (https://setupmyhotel.com/homepage/hotel-management-glossary/menu.html)

• Ensure excellent quality throughout the dessert offerings..

• Supervise and coordinate all pastry and dessert preparation and presentation.

• Checks the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.

• Assists in determining how food should be presented and creates decorative food displays.

• Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking.

• Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.

• Must possess a positive attitude and have the ability to work with a variety of people and in cooperation with co-workers efficiently and effectively

• Able to recognize superior quality products, presentations and flavors.

• Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.

• Ensure compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety standards.

• Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficiently.

• Ensuring Culinary Standards and Responsibilities Are Met for Pastry Team.

What we need from you:

• 5+ years experience in Pastry (at least 2 years in similar position)

• Positive attitude and Good communication skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Culinary or Culinary diploma
