Johnson & Johnson is looking for Principal Network Architect(focusing Wireless Technologies), reporting to and working closely with Head of Global Network Architecture, Engineering & Automation to develop and lead Network strategy, roadmap and designs to help transform our future in Software Defined Networking vision, as we go through major transformation across Global Network services at J&J.

Preferred Location: Beerse, Belgium(Hybrid). Secondary: Switzerland, UK

Reporting to Sr. Director Network Architecture, Engineering & Automation, Principal Network Architect is a Lead Architect for assigned Network domain will develop strategy and collaborate in the overall development of JNJ’s Network solutions, closely working with network engineering, deployment and Ops, along with other infrastructure and business teams including Security and Cloud. This position delivers on Major initiatives including All Wireless Office Strategy, Industrial Wireless for Manufacturing such Private 5G, PoCs, Pilots and execution.

  • The person will have deep technical hands-on experience working with Enterprise Networks, Primarily with Wifi/WLAN and industrial wireless technologies, Network Security and can provide analysis of vendor solutions and integrations with third party cloud solutions and providers.

  • Proficiency with Enterprise Network technologies, to develop cost efficient network designs.

  • Broad understanding of network virtualization, cloud computing, SDN/NFV, and overlay technologies is also desirable.

  • The candidate able to transform complex problems and abstconcepts'cepts int executable technology solutions.

  • The candidate will be accountable and responsible for detailing these designs and ensuring communication and delivery of these services globally.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Establishing overall strategic network standards and priorities.

  • Developing technical architecture and providing guidance and direction for network design and engineering.

  • Establish and maintain consistent communications with peer Architects, Engineering, deployment as well as operations teams, supplier management and vendors regarding requisite network infrastructure changes and improvement opportunities.

  • Lead Architectural discussions and drive Wifi6/E, Industrial Wireless, LTE, 5G, PoCs, Pilots.

  • Passion to learn and grow in technologies like Wifi and industrial Private 5G in manufacturing space.

  • Lead the development of network solution standards with appropriate documentation, templates, use cases and acceptance testing.

  • Lead and drive network strategy, roadmaps, pilots, standards to support global deployments at scale. This includes providing supporting documentation and training to the regional support teams.

  • Collaborate with automation and tools engineering team to drive supportable solution development with vision of Network Automation.

  • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions to Delivery, Operations and suppliers regarding changes in procedures, processes, documentation and frameworks.

  • Establish and maintain regular communications with the IT and business leaders, and department heads

Qualifications

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s in computer science, software engineering, related technical degree Or equivalent Experience

  • 10 years of domain experience, i.e. Network Architecture, Design and/or Engineering experience with a highly available global production infrastructure.

  • 5 years of proven experience in leading, driving transformation in a large enterprise with focus on Wireless Wifi technology.

  • Solid understanding of wireless connectivity platforms and protocols, RF optimization, etc.

  • Experience with relevant 3GPP, IEEE, Wifi Alliance and Wireless standards

  • Understanding of a typical Mobile Service Operator, providing LTE, Public and Private 5G based services, RAN, mobility, air interfaces, roaming, etc.

  • Experience including IEEE 802.11 Standards, encryption, 802.1x, RADIUS, EAP-TLS, etc.

  • Desired to expand knowledge and expertise in the area of Industrial Wireless which includes but not limited to Wifi, 5G Private, etc to drive architecture and design decisions.

  • Passion of Network automation with scripting experience in at least one Terraform, Python, Perl and/or YAML is preferred.

  • Understanding of hardware and software manufacturers, and experience in mixed vendor environments.

  • Ready to learn new skills, Out-of-Box problem solver and Team player

  • Ability to clearly articulate ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly terms

  • Highly self-motivated.

  • Shown analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to efficiently prioritize and complete tasks in a fast paced environment

  • Mentor/guide the activities of network engineers and associated team members on the delivery of network services at centralized facilities and remote sites.

  • Confidently, effectively and efficiently present complex technical topics in a manner suited to the different level of the audience.

  • Travel up to 10%
