As a professional in your role, your responsibilities and essential job functions will include but are not limited to:

  • Handle incoming reservation inquiries via telephone, email, and online channels, providing accurate information about room availability, rates, and hotel amenities.

  • Assist guests in making reservations, taking into account their preferences and special requests.

  • Process reservation requests promptly and accurately, entering details into the hotel's reservation system.

  • Confirm reservations with guests and provide them with booking confirmation numbers.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of room types, rates, and promotional offers to effectively upsell and maximize revenue.

  • Coordinate with other hotel departments to ensure guest needs and preferences are met, including special requests and room assignments.

  • Handle reservation modifications and cancellations according to hotel policies and procedures.

  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely and professional manner.

  • Generate reports and maintain accurate records of reservation transactions and guest interactions.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of reservation procedures and protocols to improve efficiency and guest satisfaction.

Ideally, you should possess some or all the following qualifications and experience:

  • Previous experience in a reservation or customer service role, preferably in the hospitality industry.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly and professional demeanor.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in computer systems and reservation software, with the ability to learn new programs quickly.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a proactive and positive attitude.

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Knowledge of hotel operations, room types, and amenities is a plus.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in hospitality or related fields is desirable.
