Property Caretaker

This is a temporary summer position that will conclude at the end of summer 2024.

JOB SUMMARY The Property Caretaker is responsible for the overall maintenance, cleanliness, security, and animal care of the property. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and a love for animals. The Property Caretaker will work closely with homeowners to address property maintenance needs, respond to homeowner inquiries, and ensure the health and safety of animals on the property.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Property Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including landscaping, lawn maintenance, snow removal, trash removal, outdoor furniture care, and general repairs. Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify maintenance needs and address them promptly. Grounds keeping: Maintain the appearance of outdoor areas, including lawns, gardens, pool, and pet play areas. Perform landscaping tasks such as mowing grass, trimming hedges, weeding, mulching, and planting flowers to enhance the beauty of the property. Maintain walkways and garages by keeping them clean and clear of debris. Animal Care: Provide daily care and attention to animals on the property, including feeding, watering, grooming, and exercising as needed. Monitor the health and behavior of animals and report any concerns to property management or homeowners. Security and Safety: Monitor the property for any security or safety hazards, such as broken locks, malfunctioning lights, or unauthorized individuals on the premises. Report any security concerns to homeowners and take appropriate action to address them. Homeowner Relations: Interact with homeowners in a friendly and professional manner, addressing their concerns and inquiries promptly. Serve as a point of contact for homeowner requests related to property maintenance and animal care. Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations, such as fires, floods, or severe weather events, in accordance with established procedures. Assist homeowners and animals as needed to ensure their safety and well-being during emergencies.

OTHER DUTIES Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in property maintenance, animal care, or related field preferred Basic knowledge of building systems and maintenance techniques Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor as required.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Love for animals and willingness to provide compassionate care. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
