Job Summary
The Ultrasound Technologist Lead will leverage their expertise in ultrasound technology to guide and enhance the team's efforts in improving diagnostic services, focusing on conducting non-invasive ultrasound studies. This role involves providing technical leadership, managing projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility of ultrasound services. Additionally, the lead will mentor junior staff, oversee quality assurance processes, and stay updated with the latest advancements in ultrasound technologies to ensure the services provided are of the highest quality, leading to the best patient outcomes.
Essential Functions
Leads ultrasound team and oversight of ultrasound department operations with reporting to Imaging Director
Schedules staff for ultrasound services as needed to include on call services
Serves as a liason between ultrasound department, other clinical departments, and Imaging Medical Director to review and revise policies and procedures as needed
Maintain ACR or other accrediting agency requirements (if applicable)
Oversees ultrasound department QC program and ensures all regulatory requirements are met
Create, modify, and maintain ultrasound scanning protocols in conjuction with Imaging Medical Director and Imaging Department Director
Oversee and evaluate orientation and training of staff. May provide input in the review and evaluation of staff performance.
Ensure all ultrasound equipment is within operating standards and engages equipment vendors with service concerns
Follows all ultrasound scanning protocols, recognizes and documents pathologies seen while scanning for interpretation by radiologist
Serve as a techical or functional resource and peforms similar duties with staff
Perform routine and complex ultrasound studies and assist n a variety of imaging procedures
Ensure all charge captures are entered into RIS
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Associate Degree Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology required
1-3 years Clinical experience as an ultrasound technologist required
3-5 years Clinical experience as an ultrasound technologist preferred

Licenses and Certifications
(S) - ARDMS or ARRT - Sonography or registry eligible required or
ARDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography or ARDMS registry eligible required
BCLS - Basic Life Support required
