Job Description:
C4I Systems Engineer in direct support of Army Mission Command Systems in Vicenza, Italy. Develops and executes procedures to solve complex problems regarding system issues and anomalies. Performs at an advanced technical level on all phases of application systems analysis and implementation activities. Monitors the status of Mission Command Systems to determine network accessibility, proper configuration, operation, and security. Monitors and plans for the integration and interoperability of systems to include GCCS-A, CPCE, AFATDS, TAIS, AMDWS and JADOCS to ensure data sharing with higher, lower, and adjacent commands. Ensures systems and devices such as BFT, FFT, and JCR are incorporated into the COP for Situational Awareness.
Where problems or anomalies are detected, ensures corrective actions are applied using respective Program Management Office (PMO) prescribed access methods alongside industry best practices. Communicates system problems and deficiencies with the appropriate PMO. Applies patches and updates to all systems as required. Coordinates with other site engineers to evaluate interoperability and compatibility issues and execute maintenance plans. Plans and implements interfaces with external systems as required. Forward deploys, sometimes to austere locations, to provide the full spectrum of C2 system administration, to include Windows, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating system configuration and maintenance as well as VMware ESXI virtualization architectures. Coordinates with external agencies such as the BFT Mission Command Support Center (MCSC) to facilitate tracking and management of BFT/FFT devices within the theater Common Operating Picture (COP).

Analyzes and evaluates existing or proposed systems and designs computer systems to process data.
Analyzes systems and procedures to refine their formulation and converts them to programmable formats.
Writes or updates software specifications.
Creates logical data models based on functional requirements.
Performs quality assurance review of specifications for internal and external delivery.
Troubleshoots and provides technical support and solutions to users.
Develops analytical tools for use in the design and redesign of systems.
Analyzes detail systems factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, and reliability characteristics.
Prepares and updates documentation for new or existing systems.
Monitors system effectiveness in satisfying user needs.
May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced analysts.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
Participates in special projects as required.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Bachelors Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
Required Experience: 5-8 years of directly related computer systems analysis and/or programming experience.
Certifications: Candidate must meet DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification requirements at time of hire. Candidate must obtain ITIL Foundation certification within 90 days of hire.
Required Technical Skills: Experience with planning, developing, integrating, and supporting systems and architectures for Army operations/exercises involving Joint and Army Command, Control, Communications, Computers, & Intelligence (C4I) systems. Experience supporting the GCCS-J COP/I3, GCCS-A, Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE), ICSF, Agile Client, GCCS-A Data Dissemination Service (DDS), JADOCS, and Battle Command Common Services (BCCS/TSI) stack. Experience supporting GCCS COP communications such as COP Sync Tools (CST) and Auto-Forward / Broadcasts. Experience using the GCCS-A Management Console (GMC) to configure and manage DDS. Experience with Microsoft System and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 or later. Experience managing VMware ESXi environments, to include capacity management. Experience integrating and fielding system patches and releases, rebuilding servers & clients in accordance with DoD and PMO guidelines and investigating and managing computer security incidents.
Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI
Required Skills and Abilities: Desired experience with fault tolerant systems - designing, developing disaster recovery plans, developing backup procedures, restoration of files/file systems/storage media. Experience tracking and installing IAVA and security updates for both operating systems and applications to support the RMF accreditation process. Experience integrating DoD C2 systems with models & simulations (MOD/SIM) a plus. Experience supporting Radiant Mercury or other Cross Domain Solutions a plus. Experience with applying Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs) a plus.
Location: Wiesbaden Germany
Candidate will be required to comply with Italian Soggiorno application requirements for working in Italy.

The likely salary range for this position is $93,500 - $126,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
