JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for generating detailed designs (3D models and drawings) according to the Product Engineer guidelines and will allow you to learn a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in the functional area of CAD Design.

Reporting to our CAD Designer Supervisor, this position will be located in our ETTS Viana plant.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Develop accurate designs, layouts, and stack-ups of individual parts or assemblies using accepted drafting standards and conventions.

• Develop detailed drawings and layouts.

• Prepare design proposals.

• Perform maintenance of CAD files. Continue training with advanced CAD methods and Equipment.

• Provide a smooth interchange of ideas and information between supervisors, engineers, co-workers, and customers. This requires maintaining daily personal contact with all facets of the function's operations and remaining aware of current progress.

• Develop and maintain customer and internal guide files, drafting standards, work instructions, and other tools intended to enhance the efficiency and abilities of his/her Design Group.

  EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Vocational education in Design is required, Industrial Design is preferred.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred.

• Experience in the automotive industry or a global manufacturing environment is preferred.

• Knowledge of CAD methods and equipment, or in similar software, i.e., CATIA V5, CREO, NX.

• Understanding of design drawings, layouts, stack-ups and verbal design instructions, and understanding of applying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

• Must be a team player and have good organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

• Knowledge of SAP R/3, and Team Center is helpful.

• Good English language skills (spoken and written) is required.

• Good level of Portuguese (spoken and written) is desired.
