Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have intermediate experience in Excel and a strong understanding of accounts payable processes. This role involves managing vendor invoices, ensuring accurate and timely payments, and maintaining comprehensive records. The Accounts Payable Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the financial operations of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Processing: Receive, review, and process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.

  • Payment Processing: Prepare and schedule payments to vendors while ensuring adherence to payment terms and company policies.

  • Vendor Management: Communicate with vendors regarding invoice discrepancies, payment inquiries, and other accounts payable matters.

  • Expense Reports: Process employee expense reports, verifying accuracy and compliance with company policies.

  • Data Entry: Enter financial transactions into the accounting system with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of vendor statements to ensure all invoices are accounted for and resolve any discrepancies.

  • Reporting: Generate and distribute accounts payable reports as needed, providing insights into payment trends and outstanding balances.

  • Excel Analysis: Utilize intermediate Excel skills to analyze financial data, create reports, and streamline accounts payable processes.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the accounts payable function.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments such as purchasing, finance, and procurement to resolve issues and streamline workflows.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or related financial role.

  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, etc.).

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) is a plus.

  • Understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
